Sarah Silverman's Concert Flick Snatched Up by the Roadside
by Scott Weinberg | June 28, 2005

Roadside Attractions, the distributors who brought you "Super Size Me" and the upcoming "Pretty Persuasion," have purchased the rights to the Sarah Silverman concert film "Jesus Is Magic." The Hollywood Reporter sums up the film quite succinctly: "The film allows Silverman, who has been criticized for her equal-opportunity off-color humor on network talk shows, to riff on such controversial, politically incorrect topics as Sept. 11 and the Holocaust before a live audience, as well as perform musical numbers."

To those who are (somehow) unfamiliar with the work of Ms. Silverman, you might want to check out movies like ... well, the gal's been in a lot of popular flicks ("School of Rock" and "There's Something About Mary" are only two of her credits), but none of those movies asked her to do much more but stand in the background. Roadside plans to release the "Magic,", which was directed by Liam Lynch, in early November. Ms. Silverman can also be seen in the upcoming comedy documentary "The Aristocrats."

(I was able to see "Jesus Is Magic" at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, and I think it's a very funny film, which is mainly why I thought the pick-up was especially noteworthy.)

she's never in San Diego :(
Not that I blame her. It's a hot boring conservative shithole. Sarah is the only celebrity I would ever consider stalking, ever.

In my head this sounded like a complement.
