Ninety minutes spent learning how not to pick up girls. This is what the movies were made for, isn't it?

During their martini-fueled odyssey, the duo and their buddies explore an altogether new vernacular while struggling with images of machismo, self-esteem, relationships, and, of course, sex. Lead actor Jon Favreau based the script on his and his friends' real-life Tinseltown adventures. [More]

Reviews for Swingers
Director-cinematographer Doug Liman gets points for breathing a bit of life into an already tired indie sub genre.
Actor-screenwriter Favreau and director Liman demonstrate with Swingers that they're definitely 'money.'
Swingers is uneven, amateurish and borderline misogynistic. But it's also very funny, and it never loses its cool.
The first and best outing from Favreau and Vaughan. Trendy, but hilarious. VEGAS, BABY - VEGAS!
[An] insubstantial but satisfying project that’s a good movie for 20-somethings and everyone else who wants to get a smile out of someone else’s relationship angst for a change.
One of the most sincere and earnest looks into single life in the 90s, Swingers is nothing but -- in the terms of its resident lounge lizards -- money.
One of those very rare movies where you really come out a changed, happier person -- at least for awhile. Hey, maybe I'm money, and I don't even know it!
Shows that honesty and humanity aren't incompatible with comedy in modern Hollywood.
Directed in flair by Doug Liman, with winning performances from Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn, this comedy is the most successful since Diner of what could be described as a cycle of "walking and talking" and "hanging out" pictures.
Screenwriter Favreau strengthens the characters and the reality of the situations by making wonderful use of language and male jargon.
Like a Les Brown tune, a really dry martini and a hug from a good buddy, Swingers makes you feel warm all over, baby.
Mr. Favreau wrote this screenplay with his real friends in mind. And the cast's camaraderie is appealingly clear.
Not only are its characters more realistic and sympathetic than Quentin Tarantino's, but Swingers is much more good-natured and even likable than anything he has ever done.
The arc is nothing new, but the writing and pacing make it fresh and energetic, at least enough for it to have became a cult classic.
Captures the yearnings and motives - both romantic and pathetic - of guys in their 20s like no film since Diner.
A guy film that gives you something to latch onto, that makes male bonding both believable and appealing.
