The jokes are deathly flat. There's no 'thrill' to speak of. No scares.

Reviews for Teaching Mrs. Tingle
The set-up is delivered with brisk precision, but this dark comedy quickly sputters out, going nowhere for what feels like an eternity.
Current events outraced it in ways that Williamson, who usually anticipates trends, was apparently unable to incorporate in his narrative.
If the movie is never necessarily boring, it also is rarely interesting.
It lacks the satirical edge or intelligence of other recent films set in high school, including Election.
The lack of surprises, plot twists, and clever dialogue makes this a distressingly lame offering.
Mirren singlehandedly rescues the project from being pointless nonsense; this brilliant actress can communicate more with a twitch of a lip or a well-timed flick of her eyelashes than anyone else in the cast can with pages of dialogue.
