Combining the puppetry of the mid-1960s series THUNDERBIRDS with action/disaster flicks produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (TOP GUN, ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOR), Parker and Stone tell the story of a small group of heroic figures who span the globe protecting democracy and freedom against terrorism. Along the way, they destroy such famous international landmarks as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Sphinx in Egypt, and the Panama Canal. All the while they are developing close relationships that lead to love, jealousy, and betrayal. Their primary mission is to stop North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's peace conference, which is a ruse to allow him to attack the rest of the world with his weapons of mass destruction. Team America must also take on F.A.G., the Film Actors Guild, which is supporting the peace conference, including such participants as Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, George Clooney, and other actors who have spoken out against the war in Iraq (but did not agree to be spoofed in the film). Parker and Stone reserve a special message for FAHRENHEIT 9/11 director Michael Moore, and even former UN weapons inspector Hans Blix shows up. Among the very funny--and very dirty--songs in the film are "Everyone Has AIDS" (from the Broadway musical LEASE), "Only a Woman" (about homosexuality), and "I'm So Ronery" (Kim Jong Il's soaring solo). Despite having no actual humans in it, the movie earns its R rating with lots of blood, very adult language, and a steamy puppet sex scene. [More]

Brutally violent, grotesquely gross and funny enough to make you fight not to wet your pants, Team America: World Police pegs the R-rated raunch meter.

A shout out to the bad boys of comedy for a film that’s lewd and crude and brimming with attitude.

[Parker and Stone] aren't always as evenhanded with their satirical barbs as they profess to be.

Parker and Stone unleash the Jerry Bruckheimer id with the movie we all know Hollywood would seriously like to make...cannot be denied its humorous high points.

The best antidote I can think of to the constant bombardment of self-serious Leftist documentaries is a movie that slams everyone, no matter what the affiliation.

A novelty flick that wears out its welcome well before the closing credits...but damn if there's still not a heaping helping of hellacious lunacy to enjoy along the way

The left testicle certainly gets it where it hurts, but the right is just centimeters away and is skewed so perfectly that they may not even recognize it.

While I laughed a lot and enjoyed myself, the reason this film did not get the highest marks from me is because I walked out feeling a little unfulfilled.

Its wit is played at the expense of unexpected targets… still, “Team America” is a descent into truly offensive, hysterical satire.

45 of the funniest minutes I've spent at the movies this year. Too bad this weapon of mass diversion runs more than twice that in length.
