The Dark Knight Gets a Poster!
Why so serious?
What, you thought we were going to let a day go by without doing a Dark Knight story?
Think again, Batfans. Thanks to ComingSoon and Superhero Hype!, we all get to feast our eyes on the new teaser poster for the Batman Begins sequel. We won't see Christian Bale don cape and cowl in the full-length feature until next summer, but give Warner Bros. points for drawing out and building up anticipation. Can a trailer be far behind?

![]() on Dec 05 2007 07:08 AM Works for me. It's simple and to the point. Not something I'd buy and hang in a bedroom, but something that works well on the wall in the movie theatre. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 07:09 AM huh. pretty cool. that's about it though. not much for people to argue about on this one. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 05 2007 07:12 AM Well, it's simple enough that you could actually paint your own version on the wall if you didn't want to buy the poster. I think it's a decent approach, though. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 05 2007 07:47 AM Is anyone else feeling a bit of Joker Over Exposure here ??? I mean I am totally into this "New" style Joker and so far everything I have seen and heard from Ledgers Joker is , well creepy , Sadistic and Psychotic . So dont get me wrong I am totally looking forward to seeing this Joker on the big screen ... But , part of what made Batman Begins so good was the focus on Batman and not on any one main villian , The Dark Knight seems to be the opposite at this point . Knowone is talking about Batman and what he will look like or do in the movie it is all focused on the Joker , granted it seems to be working , but when the teaser poster even focuses on the Joker and not Batman i begin to worry that with months still to go the Joker is getting over exposed and wont have as much interest or intrigue when it finally hits the theaters ... on Dec 05 2007 07:56 AM Although I really think this movie is already way too hyped, worst than Spider-Man 3 hype last summer, and we all know how that did...I really like the poster though, I hope the theatres get it this week, cause then I can put it right up, and take one home for myself.... on Dec 05 2007 07:58 AM In reply to this comment (#1329644) Woah woah... WORSE than Spider-man 3 hype? Not even close. When The Dark Knight starts overflowing theaters with four to five different trailers that (when combined) reveal the entire story, then we'll talk. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 08:04 AM the eyes kind of...lost me. i like the bat symbol as the mouth but...the eyes just look like lingerie from the VS fashion show. maybe i've just got t3tties on the mind though...i don't know. still, marketing for this movie has impressed me more than almost any i've seen since probably PrimEval. only diff is they were selling a bad product...but none the less were successful in their campaign to get peeps in the theater. on Dec 05 2007 08:15 AM After those improv photos they posted a couple of days ago --which made me seriously worry about this movie for the first time--, this poster has restored my faith. This is *exactly* the type of understated and clever display I would hope for, from Nolan'n'Co. Uradik; This movie IS about the Joker. The first one was re-introducing Batman. This one is about defining him. The only way to do that is to have something to measure him against, i.e., Joker. The more we know about the Joker, the more it defines Bats. --and dude, it's 'no one' not 'know one.' I agree with pretty much all here that they need to reign in the promotion campaign a little bit, but let's face it; if Spiderman 3 had rocked, would anyone really have cared about the over-exposure? on Dec 05 2007 08:31 AM I have to say that this has been one of the most interesting marketing campaigns ever. Think about it. There are so many different opinions about what this film will be floating around, it'll make your head spin. But the fact remains that as much as we think we know, we really don't know anything. ![]() on Dec 05 2007 08:39 AM Good grief... it's like clockwork now... Batman news= people crying "too hyped, whaaaaaaaaaaa whaa whaaa whaaa"... Give it a rest, I'm more sick of hearing that crap than seeing Batman stories, to be honest... I know it's the cool thing to say, but please, we ALL know you think it's too hyped now. on Dec 05 2007 08:59 AM If The Dark Knight is epic amazing we will all look back at this publicity and go that was so freaking smart and awesome. If it is terrible like Spiderman 3 than we will all look back and feel cheated so it all depends how awesome this movie is. Unfortunatly we are all getting our expectations up big time and if it is not the best movie ever than you know some people are going to say to was terrible. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 09:11 AM You make a good point Uradik Smoke. That was the one of the downfalls of the original set of Batman movies. I kind of wish they would stay away from the origin of the villain, similar to what they did in Begins. Limited back story = better story for the hero, IMO. Also, they better not kill off the Joker, I'm getting tired of movies killing off the bad guy. Especially, when it is the best villian in comics. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 05 2007 09:19 AM Ash Trayer(badass name btw) I couldn't agree with you more. I like an ending that doesn't really imply the the villain is dead but for now you wont see the character for awhile. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 09:35 AM Love it! Looks better than the Batsuit, that's for sure. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 10:02 AM I'm more appalled at the fact that people don't know the difference between using: KNOW vs NO As in 'know one is talking about...' that's not even a typo! (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 10:29 AM When will people learn? Umm, Christopher Nolan Christian Bale one of the greatest villains in a comic book The Joker and this is over hyped? I say it's under hyped. If I don't see a 3 minute trailer anytime soon, i'll die. Enough with these sissy's doubting Christopher Nolan. Nolan would wipe Raimi out with only 1 movie. Memento = greater then any movie Sam Raimi has made. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 05 2007 10:38 AM I'll tell you why they are hyping the Joker so much. Because unlike Batman, the Joker is an interesting character. He has depth. Beyond the backstory of how Batman became Batman, Bruce Wayne is, well, rather dull and boring. The Joker on the other hand is exceptionally intriguing. The psychotic is always an interesting angle with anyone. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 05 2007 10:42 AM I like it. Hopefully they start showing a little more of harvey dent/two-face now (Reply to this) |
