We know now grimy digital cameras and monsters from the Atlantic
can make for compelling trailer cinema, but will that be enough
to sustain a feature-length movie? We'll find out January 18 when
They've got the munchies...for adventure! BFFs Harold and
Kumar return April 25 for another dazed and confused romp in
Harold and Kumar
Escape from
The first trailer and handful of Speed Racer production stills are out, and fanboy reaction so far has been passionately divided. Exactly how the mischievous Wachowskis would like it, we're sure. Speed Racer will hit the multiplex circuit on May 9.
Sometimes the Batmobile (especially
Batman Begins' armored
Frankenstein-on-wheels) just can't weave through

Of course, let's not forget that wonderful medium almost as old as cinema itself: the movie poster! Our personal picks for the best 2008 posters so far:

on Dec 11 2007 05:16 PM Funny games was an awful pseudo-artys foreign film, and American audiences will stay away from it in droves. Interesting poster, but sure as hell makes me not want to see a movie. LOOK! Let's see a movie of unknown grief. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 11 2007 06:35 PM The Speed Racer trailer, confirms that the movie is going to suck, it looks like a bunch of toy cars flying around an old NES game with the color saturation turned up all the way. Terrible. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 11 2007 06:47 PM Interesting. When i was at the cinemas last week i pointed out how laughably terrible the One Missed Call poster was... to each his own i guess (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 11 2007 07:29 PM In reply to this comment (#1348775) sorry, Young Turk but i have to completely disagree with you... I thought the speed racer looked terrific to me. hey, this movie isn't some nascar or indy car sports flick, its fantasy and fun action flick thats it. its kinda like transformers but with a story this time;) Still, I think seriously, you should have a little more faith in the Wachowskis brothers and this trailer truly has me excited. If anything else, don't you want to see a movie with a terrified monkey and boy in a trunk going 190 mph in loop da loops and suddenely jumping with those automatic jacks or button "A" for the fans out there;) Go Speed in 08:) (Reply to this) |
![]() on Dec 11 2007 07:39 PM And before i go i can't forgot to talk about my favorite white castle loving, cheeta riding, weed smoking dynamic duo of Harold AND Kumar returning to the big screens!! Hey it was surely a memorable movie, if not great, and seeing what happens with 'roldy and his quest to find his beloved Maria in Amsterdam! and now they are going to get stranded in Guantanamo Bay, oh boy dude, they're going need a whole lot of weed to escape this fine mess they got themselves into. Why do i have feeling Neil Patrick Harris has something to do with this;) damn doogie howser!! those who know the movie, know what sort of douchebag he can be;) Oh and the BATpod looks SWeeeeeeTt! I can't wait to see Nolan's ideal version of the Batplane, still i can't see how he can improve the previous film's bat jet, those were pretty awesome but hey i believe in nolan. (Reply to this) |

on Dec 25 2007 06:58 PM Call me a sinner, but I'm friggin' psyched for Speed Racer. "Not faithful to the cartoon"? Have you ever WATCHED the cartoon? And the Harold and Kumar sequel just looks loltacular. (Reply to this) |
