Transformers 2 Character Breakdowns Leaked
IESB's got the exclusive scoop.
Transformers 2 isn't scheduled to officially get rolling until July, but Michael Bay and friends have already put out a casting call for the sequel's human stars.
IESB has posted a (spoiler-laden) rundown of the casting sheet, which includes 11 human roles not played by Shia LaBeouf, as well as some tidbits about who Optimus Prime and his merry band of Autobots will be facing off against in the sure-to-be-blockbuster.
We won't spill any beans here (other than to say we never thought we'd read the words "self-satisfied intellectual" and "arrogant enough to wear leather pants" in the same sentence), but if you want to get the latest inside scoop on Transformers 2, follow the link below!

on Apr 07 2008 06:11 AM i didn't see Fox anywhere in that...even though i just glanced cuz i really don't wanna know the entire plot. she looked gooooooooooood...d3mn. and since i haven't seen...nor heard her name spoken ever since...i'd assume she'd take the job in a heartbeat. lets play over/under. 7----how many people will post something hateful about bay and say this movie will suck because its: stupid, not entertaining, boring, predictable, immature rubbish...etc. i'll take...OVER (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 06:45 AM In reply to this comment (#1674285) Dunno that they'd list her in the casting call if she's guaranteed to come back. I tend to agree about 'goooood.' I'll make the same comment I always have and will make until this movie comes out-- I, a former Transformers fanatic, LOVED the first movie and I look forward to the second one. HAVING said that, I have serious concerns about drop-offs in quality which are so dam# frequent in sequels in the fantasy/Sci-fi genre (hell, in ALL genres) Ghostbusters 2 Men in Black 2 Mortal Kombat 2 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (the old, live-action version) Transporter 2 Matrix 2 (and 3) Batman 2 (the Tim Burton-directed, Michael Keaton version) Not ALL sequels have sucked, but every time they ram out another of something simply because the first one was good, they f#ck it up. I have no idea what this cast list means within the new movie, but I'm tentatively betting on Bay again. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 07 2008 06:48 AM Constructicons form DEVASTATOR. Although I really wanted the decepticons Combaticons to form Bruticus since Optimus rocked Bonecrusher in the first movie. We know any Transformers post will have the Bay haters flocking to it. I love how they bash the movie but praise the crappy '86 animated movie and cartoon series that was just a commercial spot to get you to buy the toys which came out before the cartoon. I'm sure Megan Fox is going to be in 2, would be a shame not have her to look at. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 06:58 AM The first Transformers is so amazing, in fact I think it may be one of my favorite movies... Michael Bay looks like he could be an ******* but he sure as hell can direct a movie. The Island didn't get enough recognition and while Pearl Harbor sucked, the action sequences were nothing short of breathtaking. He may not be able to make an "Oscar-worthy" pic, but he sure can make a bang in the summer box-office. The coolest thing about the Transformers soon-to-be-frachise for me is that I'm not a fan of the show, so there is nothing to be dissapointed about. Anyway speaking of summer, here are my summer movies... My Top 20 list for Summer 2008 goes as follows. (Keep in mind, my list starts at May 4th) 1. Indy 4- Why? Because Indy Jones are the most light-hearted and enjoyable films ever-made. 2. The Dark Knight- Christian Bale is one of today's best actors and the all-star line-up as well as the dark-edge to the eries won't dissapoint. 3. Iron Man- Robert Downey Jr. is not one of my favorite actors, but the effects and constant advertising has definetly got my attention. 4. Mummy 3- Nothing has been released about this yet, but the two movies (the second one being as cheesy as it is) and the Universal Studios ride are keeping me excited for this sequel. 5. Speed Racer- The Wachowski Brothers hardly dissapoint, actually they don't. This movie will be a creative and unique experience that I am thoroughly looking foward too. 6. Wanted- James McAvoy is Transporter and Shoot 'em Up look like child's movies. 7. The Incredible Hulk- Something's telling me this movie will suck bad, especially since Marvel only seems to release one quality movie a year (Spiderman 3- good, Fantastic Four 2- horrible). But, Ed Norton, William Hurt and Tim Roth may redeem tthe movie. 8. The Happening- M. Night is the man! Period. 9. Hancock- Will Smith is a great actor and this movie is obviously going to make fun of the superhero genre perfectly. 10. Narnia 2- Kids movie- don't think so. This should be interesting. 11. Step Brothers- Will Ferell and John C. Reilly- Sold! 12. Tropic Thunder- Ben Stiller and Robert Downey as a black guy! Wow! 13. Wall-E- Pixar is the best animation program in the buis... 14. Pineapple Express- Seth Rogan, Judd Apatow, last year was awesome, this year should be no different. 15. You Don't Mess with the Zohan- I love Adam Sandler and since Judd Apatow is writing the script, it should be awesome! 16. Get Smart- The trailers weren't anything special, but Steve Carell is one funny SOB 17. Hellboy 2- It's going to be light dark entertainment. Ron Perlman! 18. Star Wars: Clone Wars- It's animated, I know... but aren't any of you yearning for another Star Wars, regardless if its animated. 19. What Heppens in Vegas- Ashton is back! 20. Mamma Mia- I don't know, but hopefully it'll be this years Hairspray. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 07:17 AM tomb...its an update, i'd like to hope they'd at least MENTION her comin' back since they said the big questions were who's coming back and who's new. c'mon...just for the simple fact that they'd have to post a pic of her if there's even a blurb! she's hot. she looks VERY plastic in real life though but in that movie...phew, perfecto. and i can't agree with your assessment on the Matrix sequel and the Batman sequel. i liked the second batman(wasn't AS good, but didn't suck) and the third Matrix is when i started to go...wtf? i thought the second one was coo. i also LOVED the fact that they released 2...then soon after...released 3. i hate waiting years for a sequel... by the way, there was never a Transporter 2...it was just bonus footage from Crank. it was too cartoony to be a sequel to Transporter... MK2 was one of the worst movies i've seen in awhile, i finally saw it a few months ago and kept wondering if the actors delivered their lines...and went into their trailers and cried after the director said CUT. "my career...has come to THIS?!" movies like that are sad... (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 07:23 AM If they bring in the constructicons, the only way I will be satisfied by the means of eliminating this new threat to (again???) New York city is by bringing the Dinobots. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 07 2008 07:30 AM I actually have always liked Batman Returns more than Batman. I thought where the Joker never came across as psychotic just a regular guy having fun the penguin and catwoman were much darker in their mentality yet you felt sorry for the characters especially the penguin at the end. Returns is a deeper movie than any of the BM movies. MK2 sucked but I think part 1 was horrible as well. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 07:32 AM Didn't they already have Bonecrusher and what they called Devastator in the original movie? (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 08:07 AM In reply to this comment (#1674351) Gimy; fair point. There's really no reason NOT to toss her name (and pic, and body..) around, if she's in the mix. And dude, that was pretty funny about Transporter 2. John Z.D. ...well, let's just agree to disagree, then. I can't get past the fact that Batman 2 had, as the major threat, a bunch of F#CKING PENGUINS with BOMBS strapped to their backs. Michelle Pfifer looked pretty good, though. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 09:00 AM On Batman Returns, every bone in my film studying, comic loving body tells me to hate that movie...but for some reason I just can't. Is it a good Batman movie? Good lord no, but it's sheer creativity with the characters and weirdness about it....I can't help but admire it's guts. Arguably the most ballsy studio movie ever made. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 09:29 AM Comedic Black Man #2: Acts like a coward and accidentally blows stuff up, causing him to say things like, "oh ****, run!" and "aww...hell no!" Buff white marine: The antithesis of Comedic Black Man #2. Strong, smart, not a coward. Ends up being saved accidentally by Comedic Black Man #2. Hot *** chick: This girl wears lots of revealing clothing and her eyeliner never runs no matter how much she sweats. She takes the lead in pursuing Buff White Marine and the two get together and share a laugh as Comedic Black Man #2 steps in dog**** and shouts "man! i just got these pumps!" (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 07 2008 09:29 AM This is awesome. I just want some more Autobot/Decepticon character development. I would love to see Jetfire as a Decepticon, Starscream's best friend, show up and eventually betray the Decepticons to join the Autobots. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 09:37 AM I was never really watched the show, but the movie was entertaining and the effects were expertly crafted... but there's no way I'd say the movie was amazing. It definitely lacked a bit in the plot, but that didn't matter at all. No one was there to see plot death (come on it's a movie about giant robots from space :D) and the action and humor kept it going the whole way through. My only concern with the second film is that the action and special effects could be less entertaining because now we've seen it all before. Let's be honest. If the action sequences in Transformers hadn't been so cool, the movie wouldn't have been as good as it was. I don't think they'll have a problem keeping it inventive and exciting though. ![]() on Apr 07 2008 10:40 AM In reply to this comment (#1674401) Agreed Batman returns was ultra kitsch with the penguin but that was the appeal to me. There were risks taken in that film and it was over the top and sublime at the same time. I agree with the other sequels on your list tho for the most part so I'm not arguin' the point just standing up or the weird pleasure of Batman Returns. AS far as Transformers 2 I just want to see how they can up the action in this one, adding in some new 'bots is a good start tho. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 10:40 AM "transformers was SO AMAZING" "Transformers is one of my favorite movies" blah blah shut the hell up. the best part of the movie was that helicopter part in the beginning and it was ALL down hill from there. leave it to mikey bay to try and be funny for the first, what, hour and fifteen minutes? the only real transformers action was in the final big sequence, during which all i could see was a bunch of blurry colors. it was retarded. i can take an action movie at face value... when i can actually make out what's occurring on screen. and gimy, spare me your jargon about the level of detailed mechanics during the transformations because it wasn't that complex at all. they had a rendering of the vehicle version and one of the transformer-robot version. then, they made a bunch of random parts move around to transition between them. it's not like all of the pieces of the vehicle were accounted for in terms of the structure of the robot. the mechanics of the transformations were arbitrary and what action there was lacked any semblance of clarity. on Apr 07 2008 10:48 AM If Bay kicks up the action as he did from Bad Boys 1 to BB2, then this will be the biggest action flick of all time. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 10:56 AM I don't quite understand people listing 15-20 or more movies they are looking forward to in the summer. Might as well just copy and paste the "what's coming to theaters summer 2008." Plus, the once sentence blurbs aren't all that helpful, either. As for me, here is my top 20 list for movies coming out this summer: 1. Deep Inside Barbara Bush- I love older women, this one will be the oldest for this popular series. 2. Dude, where's my colon?- One word, Ashton Kutcher rocks! I can't wait to see him play an old dude with a colostomy bag! 3. James Bond- Antofagasta! 4. The Happening- M. Night Shalyman Salmon Sandwich will amaze us all by not having a gimicky ending. Everyone will say "I DEFINATELY didn't see that one coming!" 5. Choke- A story about the Buffalo Bills football team. 20. 2 girls 1 cup: THE MOVIE (Reply to this) |

on Apr 07 2008 10:59 AM dahl...i will spare ya because i had NO intention, seriously...ZERO of rambling about the detailed mechanics of the transformation. i couldn't careless if one of them turned from a Lambo Diablo...to oprah...to a fighting autobot. as long as it was as ENTERTAINING as it was...i couldn't have cared less. simply put, it was the most entertaining movie of the summer. you cats who whine about overcomplex DETAILS sadden me. i'll call Bay...i'll make sure he includes Optimus with a dong this time. details baby...details. (10 minutes later). ok...got off the phone with Bay...he says he likes the dong idea but the studio won't greenlight an R rated autobot. here's his idea, he gets a sh3tbox motorhome to turn into a giant Britney Spears lookin robot...and it kills a Decepticon by opening up its legs and shooting out hydrochloric acid. what'd ya think? not enough detail?? ok, the motorhome has an old 70's ugly brown shaggy rug and when it turns into the autobot...the rug is specially placed so that can be the Britneycon's vagggg.......ok, too much detail...too much detail... on Apr 07 2008 11:01 AM Oh, and I also don't like it when people put their top 15-20 list in a thread that has nothing to do with top 15-20 summer movies! I mean, this thread is for a 2009 movie! And I hate it when people post twice in a row, get it all done the first time! (Reply to this) |
