If you expect and want to see the hyper-wacky Carrey...you'll hate it. If you expect and don't want to see the creepy Carrey as in the The Cable Guy, you'll be happier.

Consensus: A funny, tender, and thought-provoking film, The Truman Show is all the more noteworthy for its remarkably prescient vision of runaway celebrity culture and a nation with an insatiable thirst for the private details of ordinary lives.

The life of Truman Burbank (Carrey) has been broadcast around the world with tremendous success since the day he was born. A star for the mere fact that he exists, Truman has no idea that there are cameras in every corner of his world. But soon, cracks begin to show in the constructed world, and Truman questions his existence while everyone around him is in on the joke. Weir directs a fine cast, including Laura Linney as Truman's wife and Ed Harris as the show's director. Screenwriter Andrew Niccol also added interesting twists to the scripts for S1M0NE and GATTACA. Reviews for The Truman Show
Las secuencias de sincronía de eventos para que Truman crea todo son perfectas.
A little miracle of 1990s Hollywood that deserves more praise and more audience today than it had a few years ago.
Just a little too pleased with its own abrupt resolution to be completely satisfying.
although there are flashes of humor throughout, the film is more often funny-weird than it is uproarious.
Although it doesn't merit the superlatives being thrown at its feet, The Truman Show is a rewarding experience.
What this film proves is that it is still possible to make a completely original movie in modern Hollywood. Perhaps this brilliant fable will encourage others to try.
Unlike most summer releases and Jim Carrey movies, there's nothing dumb or dumber about director Peter Weir's astonishing social satire.
There aren't many original ideas coming out of Hollywood these days, but The Truman Show is one of them.
The Truman Show is not perfect, but it's interesting, and has its funny moments.
It is quite rewarding to see Weir's gifts as a craftsman attached to a script that mostly fulfills its own ideological ambitions.
Funny, moving, imaginative and wickedly smart about the addictive power of comfy illusion.
Tailor-made for our era of celebrity spectacles, theme parks, and the incursion of pop culture into all aspects of our lives.
This is an astonishingly rich and provocative movie that finds one of our few authentically visionary directors still testing himself and daring his audiences to keep up.
