willywonkanobi writes: on May 31 2009 10:26 PM it will be better. You can already tell. The last one looked like a failed WB pilot. This one is directed by Chris Weitz. It is a bigger budget. Better FX, and better source material. The only way for it to not improve significantly would have been to keep Catherine Hardwicke behind the camera. (Reply to this) |

jokerboy1991 writes: on May 31 2009 11:05 PM Meh, I surprisingly didn't laugh that much at Pattison here but that scene where that girls finger got caught was pretty funny. That werewolf transformation also looks kind off, unfinished FX... Also a bigger budget and better effects does not make for a good movie, films are to tell stories and FX is only a back drop in story telling. (Reply to this) |

jokerboy1991 writes: on May 31 2009 11:16 PM In reply to this comment (#2523428) Meh means it looks mediocre and not completely terrible. I did laugh at some points, but that one hot vampire distracted me a little bit. (Reply to this) |

tagerd writes: on May 31 2009 11:35 PM The change behind the camera looks to be improving the film, but its still twilight, so laughable at most. All of the promo for this movie has been a complete joke. Anyone besides 10-14 year old tweens excited for this, should feel ashamed. And I'm still pissed that Muse had to be used in possibly the worst scene in movie history. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 01 2009 05:16 AM In reply to this comment (#2523422) True, but a lot of the problems people had with the original were more with the cheesy FX and amateur direction, so it would appear many of those issues have been addressed. Only issue I had with it was as mentioned the Wolf transformation seemed a bit unfinished, though it looks like a kickass scene and not sure about the new direction in make-up. Jasper looks a bit silly with what you see of him and Laurent is way off. I mean Vampires are supposed to be able to blend in. That guy definately ain't blending. I liked the downplayed contacts and make-up of the original. (Reply to this) |

Bigbrother writes: on Jun 01 2009 05:20 AM In reply to this comment (#2523460) I've addressed this before in other forums, but making them quickly is kinda a prerequisite since a good portion of the cast is not supposed to age, so waiting for the standard 2 years in between isn't really an option if you want to maintain believability as a series. Also, with it being based on a popular contemporary book script development is significantly shortened and lastly, it doesn't really require a lot of different locations to shoot just the pacific northwest (Canada in this one) and Italy for a very few scenes. Bigbrother writes: on Jun 01 2009 05:22 AM In reply to this comment (#2523475) **Semi-Spoiler** Actually he's not a Werewolf, you'll see that later. So prepare to be surprised if you haven't read the books. (Reply to this) |

just m. writes: on Jun 01 2009 05:29 AM Haven't read any of the books and won't either and haven't seen the first film, but I have noticed all the hate for the film. I thought I would watch the trailer without prejudice...OMG!!! Atrocious & cliched dialogue and mediocre acting, I will avoid it. (Reply to this) |

Mike B. writes: on Jun 01 2009 05:58 AM I laughed. I don't think it was supposed to be funny. Stewart is okay in my book, after Adventureland. Most likely not going to watch this, though. Certainly not in public lol. (Reply to this) |
