Consensus: Though Two Weeks Notice has nothing new to add to the crowded genre, Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock make the movie a pleasant, if predictable, sit.

Runtime: 1 hr 42 mins

Genre: Comedies

Synopsis: Millionaire George Wade (HUGH GRANT) doesn’t make a move without Lucy Kelson (SANDRA BULLOCK), his multi-tasking Chief Counsel at the Wade Corporation. A brilliant attorney with a strategic mind,... Millionaire George Wade (HUGH GRANT) doesn’t make a move without Lucy Kelson (SANDRA BULLOCK), his multi-tasking Chief Counsel at the Wade Corporation. A brilliant attorney with a strategic mind, she also has an ulcer and doesn’t get much sleep. It’s not the job that’s getting to her. It’s George. Smart, charming and undeniably self-absorbed, he treats her more like a nanny than a Harvard-trained lawyer – and can barely choose a tie without her help. Now, after five years of calling the shots, on everything from his clothes to his divorce settlements, Lucy Kelson is giving her two weeks notice. Although George makes it difficult for Lucy to leave the Wade Corporation, he finally agrees to let her go – but only if she finds her own replacement. After a challenging search, she hires an ambitious young lawyer (ALICIA WITT) with an obvious eye on her wealthy new boss. Finally free of George and his 24-hour requests, Lucy is ready to change course and join her devoted boyfriend (MARK FEUERSTEIN) on an adventure at sea. Or is she? Confronted with the fact that Lucy is literally sailing out of his life, George faces a decision of his own: is it ever too late to say “I love you”? -- © 2002 Warner Bros. [More]

'Es la típica película romántica que se puede disfrutar si se entra a la sala sabiendo que se van a ver clichés y el típico final feliz'

Lo que falla es el elemento de "chispa"; no existe esa tensión sexual típica entre entre los dos protagonistas; y ése es un hueco irreparable.

Featherweight romantic comedy has a few nice twists in a standard plot ... and the charisma of Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

It was only a matter of time before some savvy producer saw the potential success inherent in the mixture of Bullock Bubble and Hugh Goo.

This is the kind of movie where the big scene is a man shot out of a cannon into a vat of ice cream.

Instead of focusing mostly on the budding relationship between the two leads, the movie throws in useless subplots and needless distractions when all we really want is to see Grant and Bullock fall in love.

The respective charms of Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant have worn threadbare.

Une comédie romantique typique mais fort amusante.

Instead of using George and Lucy's most obvious differences to ignite sparks, Lawrence desperately looks elsewhere, seizing on George's haplessness and Lucy's personality tics.

This is an old-fashioned, frankly formulaic star vehicle built for two, and it brings out the best, or at least the most appealing, in its pampered passengers.

I'm glad I saw The Two Towers and Gangs of New York first. Viewed in that manner, Two Weeks Notice assumes its rightful place as a pleasant dessert after the main course %u2013 and a splendid dessert it is.

It’s a treat – a delightful, witty, improbable romantic comedy with a zippy jazzy score… Grant and Bullock make it look as though they are having so much fun.

For once, a movie does not proclaim the truth about two love-struck somebodies, but permits them time and space to convince us of that all on their own.
