In an unprecedented undertaking, acclaimed director Oliver Stone is bringing the life of our 43rd President to the big screen as only he can. W takes viewers through Bush’s eventful life -- his struggles and triumphs, how he found both his wife and his faith, and of course the critical days leading up to Bush’s decision to invade Iraq. Despite a number of strong performances from his smartly assembled cast, this is the first truly boring movie of Stone’s career.

I'm still not quite sure why we needed a dramatization of one of the country's darkest chapters before it had even ended, but it apparently played a small role in my parents voting for a Democrat in the 2008 election, so I guess it was good for something.

With this story it's hard to shake the feeling that the tragic flaw isn't in Bush, but in the people who elected him . . . twice.

This Stone-d Bush is a pampered village idiot prop, with Thandie's bubbleheaded Condi stealing the show. And while W's 'just make sure you hit no camels on the ass,' is wild, the movie begs the question, who is responsible? W: The Audacity Of Honing Up.
