Inside Pixar

From Toy Story to WALL-E, Pixar has produced some of the world's most beloved animated movies of the last decade and a half. From their Emeryville campus, a short hop from the city of San Francisco, Pixar's strive to innovate and passion for story has seen them mine cinematic gold pretty-much consistently since their first feature.

Needless to say, when they invited RT to come and tour the very epicentre of their excellence, we couldn't refuse. On the following pages, enjoy an exclusive glimpse into the heart of Pixar.

The main atrium looks like the one from Monsters Inc.

Yeah, that's exactly what I though, too! :) Haha...the Render Farm is kind of ridiculously awesome, as well. It even has its own neon sign.

I do loves me some Pixar.

Hey, don't knock it - a cerealed work force is a happy workforce.

I like to think I ate enough cereal during my visit to account for at least two Finding Nemo admissions...

The cereal room is indeed awesome.
I want some of that WALL-E concept art for my wall.

I like this, but I saw once a documentory. The real cool thing is with the artists and how they are allowed to decorate their "Room". This is owesome...! They do so cool stuff and most of them live like a small kid. Thatīs how they can create those lovable movies.

Cereal is the fuel behind all of their movies. They started there days with a nobody animating company with little cash and a short supply of cereal, their one and only fuel source. So they gathered all the strength they could and made the best animated short possible and made enough money to buy more cereal, and in turn make better animated movie/short which made more money then the first which let them buy MORE cereal and hire more employees.

WOW! The Pixar campus looks quite a bit like the Silicon Graphics (AKA: SGI) corporate campus back in SGI's heyday (now Google's corporate campus).
