Consensus: The characters are still endearing, but the jokes in Wayne's World 2 are more hit-and-miss the second time around.

Runtime: 1 hr 41 mins

Genre: Comedies

Synopsis: Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey) return in this sequel to the 1992 pop-culture time capsule WAYNE'S WORLD. The boys still have their Aurora, Illinois cable access show,... Wayne Campbell (Mike Myers) and Garth Algar (Dana Carvey) return in this sequel to the 1992 pop-culture time capsule WAYNE'S WORLD. The boys still have their Aurora, Illinois cable access show, Wayne is still dating Cassandra (Tia Carrere) and Garth has even found love in the form of Honee Hornee (Kim Basinger). After sleazy record producer Bobby Cahn (Christopher Walken) attempts to lure the foxy Cassandra away from Wayne, a stress-induced dream transports Wayne to a meeting in the desert with late Doors vocalist Jim Morrison, where the deceased rock hero convinces Wayne to organize a huge outdoor rock festival in Aurora called "Waynestock." Never one to ignore the commands of a dead rock god, Wayne enlists Garths to help him plan the concert. Continuing with the same goofy slang and surprising guest appearances that made its predecessor such a mammoth success, director Stephen Surjik picks up the baton and delivers a sequel that is bound to please those who found WAYNE'S WORLD so endearingly hilarious. This isn't nearly as funny as its predecessor, but still boasts more decent gags per reel than your average comedy follow-up.

If ever there was an unnecessary sequel, it's Wayne's World 2.

Wayne's World 2 is mostly just mining the same pop culture terrain as its far more worthy predecessor.

[The] same concepts that looked refreshing and entertaining two years earlier, seem boring and repetitive now.

One Guy's Opinion

There are some worthwhile moments in Wayne's World 2, but not enough to justify a feature-length movie.

Dismal sequel to a thoroughly inessential movie.

became more about an excuse to party. Sure, that fits Wayne Campbell's style, but I was hoping for some more story, even if it was a bit silly
