Combining a passion for special effects (he built a robot for the JUDGE DREDD movie and picked-up an Oscar nomination for special effects in ALIEN 3), electronica, and a dark sense of humor, Cunningham has infiltrated the underground and the mainstream with his state-of-the-art video techniques. Included on this compilation are his amazing, grotesque and groundbreaking videos for Aphex Twin, as well as work from Madonna, Portishead, Bjork and Squarepusher. Additional features include behind the scenes material, short films, commercials (for Playstation and others), as well as work Cunningham submitted to the highly lauded "Flex" exhibition at the Royal Academy of Art in London. WORK OF DIRECTOR MICHEL GONDRY: Michel Gondry has a reputation for producing some of the most dizzying, eclectic, and innovative work in the music video field. Rising to prominence with videos for bands including Massive Attack, Bjork, and Radiohead, Gondry has progressed to work with an array of artists from different fields, including The Rolling Stones and The White Stripes. His lego-assisted video for the latter band garnered several MTV Video Award nominations. This sumptuous package includes over 300 minutes of material, with videos, interviews, behind the scenes footage, and some short films, including PECAN starring Jim Carrey. Gondry has progressed to make a name for himself as a feature film director (HUMAN NATURE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND), but this early groundbreaking work is a vital part of his ouvre. WORK OF DIRECTOR SPIKE JONZE: Before climbing to Oscar-nominated fame with films such as ADAPTATION and BEING JOHN MALKOVICH, Spike Jonze had carved a name for himself as one of the hottest music video directors around. Practically reinventing the wheel, Jonze created stunning, innovative works for bands including The Beastie Boys, Weezer, Bjork, Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, The Pharcyde, and many others. This collection of his work runs to over four hours of seminal, visionary work, including all his music videos, an array of documentaries, behind the scenes material, audio commentaries, interviews, and a whole lot more.
