Universal Announces a "Curious" Voice Cast
by Scott Weinberg | March 25, 2005
Discuss Article
Rope of Silicon was clever enough to scan a full-page Variety ad that divulges the complete voice cast for Universal Pictures' upcoming "Curious George" adaptation. Most of you already know that Will Ferrell is on board to supply the voice of "the man in the yellow hat," but now we all know that the rest of the cast includes Drew Barrymore, David Cross, Dick Van Dyke, Eugene Levy, Joan Plowright, and Ed O'Ross. Director Matthew O'Callaghan ("The Little Mermaid"Wink is behind the helm, and Universal plans to unleash "George" in February of '06.

Wait, so this is animated, right? That's the only way this could even remotely be pulled off. And I'm not sure how good of an idea it was to begin with.

Aw come on. Curious Geroge is from another time. They're going to really maniuplate it to make it appeal to the kiddies of today or no one will see it.

Kinda ticked about this but who knows, they could do well. That IS an impressive cast.

Good grief. Curious George? Sooner or later they're going to have made a film about *every* book, TV series and comic I can remember. Can't say I recall George having much of a storyline, mind you. They'll have to come up with something. It could be good. We shall see.
