WB Joins the Vampire Cheerleading Squad
Variety brings news of "Absolute Angels," a teen-centric horror comedy that will hit the screens courtesy of Warner Bros. and screenwriters Genevieve Jolliffe ("Urban Ghost Story") & Andrew Zinnes. The story focuses on "a lonely goth girl who gets invited to join the high school cheerleading team only to learn the cheerleaders are actually a pack of vampires."
No word yet on whether the comedy material will be dry & slick like "The Lost Boys" or broad & goofy like "Scary Movie," but Ms. Jolliffe will make her directorial debut on the project. Sounds to us like a cross between "The Craft" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which means it'll probably find a fairly appreciative teenage audience.

![]() on Jun 17 2005 11:45 AM even a better idea..... why not as well as having vampire cheerleaders they could add crazy "slug-like" aliens disguised as teachers that are trying to overthrow the student body and the outcast teens who know about these not only have to snort some meth but as well garlic....then they could just call this craptastic film The Faculty 2 (or do they have that already?) or The Faculty 3 or how about they just dont name it anything and have all the people who sat in a room thinking this sounded like a good film...SHOT!!! on Jun 17 2005 04:56 PM In reply to this comment (#823295) Uh, VML... Goths aren't a race. They're people who wear black a lot. I should know; my friend is one. I think you probably meant 'prejudiced against'. There's a difference. As for the film... I thought there was something creepy about cheerleaders ever since I watched 'Bring It On'. >shudder< (Reply to this) |

on Jun 20 2005 03:45 PM I'd respond with something more, but my brain is too busy fleeing my head after reading the "Celebrity Air" story. But I WILL say that I don't have much faith in this movie idea. (Reply to this) |
