Fox has hired director John Moore to helm "The Omen 666," a remake of the 1976 Richard Donner hit about a demonic little kid and the people near him who keep dying.

Variety reports that the fast-tracked project will begin production on October 3rd. Newbie screenwriter Dan McDermott has been tapped to adapt David Seltzer's original screenplay.

"The Omen 666" will mark Mr. Moore's third film, after "Behind Enemy Lines" and "Flight of the Phoenix."

God this makes me sadder and sadder! Nothing but remakes, sequels, and prequels. Hollywood doesnt care about making movies anymore, just money. Fuck this shit.

Sigh.

I'M SHAKING MY ROSARY IN ANGER!

Well, they better at least keep the scene where a long antenna pole is hit by lightning, falls off the roof of the church, lands on the priest's head and plows right through him vertically.
That ROX!!

Haven't seen the original. But I though Moore did pretty good on Behind Enemy Lines.

I think this film is a classic, the people remember the original film directed by Donner and acted by the legendary Gregory Peck. Which actor is as good as Gregory Peck nowadays???.

If this film hits the big screen i will never watch it!.

How... EXACTLY... did a newbie screenwriter get this gig??? Cuz I'd like to adapt Captain America without the worry of past experience.

Also, I want to thank Hollywood for giving me yet another reason to stay home and read books.

Good job! Now that you've put the idea out there, I expect to read in HR next week that Michael Bay is directing it, based on a script by Avika Goldsman.
