Trailer Bulletin: Lord of War
by Scott Weinberg | July 29, 2005
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Yahoo! Movies brings us the all-new trailer for Lions Gate's seemingly twisted comedy-action flick "Lord of War," which stars Nicolas Cage, Jared Leto, Ethan Hawke, Ian Holm, and Bridget Moynahan.

Written and directed by Andrew Niccol (screenwriter of "The Truman Show" and director of "Gattaca"), "Lord of War" tells the story of a morally-challenged arms dealer who has a crisis of conscience while dealing with an ATF agent and some decidedly trigger-happy former customers.

This rather intriguing movie hits theaters on September 30th.

Same day as Serenity?!? There isn't that much late September box office money to go around... for one high profile movie, let alone two.

looks very tongue in cheek, which is a good thing. Especially with cage, because he's great with that type of humor. Looks good!!!

confused
so is nic cage the hero, anti hero, or just a smug asshole? I'm not sure which one would make the movie appealing.

here's the thing
it looks like a great concept.

niccol doesn't screw up the delivery....gattaca is incredible

maybe the trailer just took every crap one-liner to sell it to the public. cause they still think we want RE 7 and Doom.

I like the other poster, the one with all the guns spelling lords of war.

Nicolas Cage's best movie will always be Leaving Las Vegas. That was some of the best acting I have ever seen!

Weatherman...?

Isn't that a close-up of "The Weatherman" poster, only with Cage's face dirty...? Doesn't it look the same...?

No. No, it doesn't. I guess it was Cage's face. It always looks the same. He's a good actor, though.

The trailer was interesting. I will definately go see it. It seems like a good movie, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it his best work since "Leaving Las Vegas". But, anything is possible, we'll just have to wait and see, I guess.
