Roger Corman's Back Catalog Finds a Home ... at Disney?
by Scott Weinberg | September 08, 2005

Legendary indie filmmaker Roger Corman has signed a deal with Buena Vista, which will result in a Disney logo on the back of the next "Death Race 2000" DVD, says Variety. "Under the 12-year pact announced Wednesday, Buena Vista Home Entertainment gains distribution rights to more than 400 cult-classic Corman films in the U.S. and on select films in Canada.

Corman is best known for his low-budget horror and science fiction movies including 1960s "The Little Shop of Horrors," "Rock and Roll High School" starring the Ramones and 1975 sci-fi actioner "Death Race 2000" starring Sylvester Stallone and David Carradine.

"We are thrilled to have video distribution rights to Roger Corman's film library," BVHE president Robert Chapek said. "Corman's avant-garde films have undoubtedly influenced Hollywood filmmaking and cultivated generations of classic genre film fans, so we’re elated to bring this legendary film library to existing fans and new audiences alike.""

I doubt they'll use the "Disney" logo on the back of his films. Most likely they'll use the "Touchstone" logo.
