Rosario Dawson Signs Up for Two New Weinstein Productions
by Scott Weinberg | September 20, 2005
Discuss Article
Mega-watt hottie Rosario Dawson ("Sin City") has signed on for a pair of productions over at The Weinstein Company, says Variety. One is the Elmore Leonard ensemble adaptation "Killshot," and the second will be Kevin Smith's "Clerks" sequel."

"The Weinsteins are near deals with Johnny Knoxville and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to join Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke and Thomas Jane in "Killshot," the John Madden-directed adaptation of the Elmore Leonard bestseller.

"Killshot" involves a couple who flee to the witness protection program, with a gangster in pursuit. Dawson will play the girlfriend of the gangster's dangerous sidekick, a role that went to Gordon-Levitt. Knoxville will portray the FBI agent trying to keep the couple alive.

Dawson, who'll next be seen in the Chris Columbus-directed screen adaptation of the Broadway musical "Rent," starts "Killshot" next month and will bounce from that film to "Passion of the Clerks," the sequel that was written and will be directed by Kevin Smith."

why is no one giving this sequel a chance? i think it will be great. can't wait to see smith get back to his roots. i'll forgive him for Jersey Girl. plus jay and silent bob will be back, so come on people and give it a chance.

what are you going on about now? the clerks sequel is going to rock! that's if you have faith in Mr. Smith. which i do. i mean i can understand why you're skeptical, but if you believe what the man says about keeping to the original, the people involved with the first all say they approved right? staying faithful to the Clerks way.

i don't know, i'm looking forward to it. and c'mon rosario dawson! she's hot! hotness, in a convenience store!

Clerks sucked -- it's only cool to say it's cool b/c that's what all the self-considered cool counter-culturist casuists call Clerks (my alliteration quota for the day is filled -- good night).

Mega-watt hottie, nice. Dawson is awsome and Killshot is just starting to sound better and better. Dawson, Rourke, and Madden thats a nice combo, that will be even better if Gordon-Levitt joins. As for the Clerks sequel, the first one was ok, but I am a big Kevin Smith fan and think that him and Dawson will be great together.
