by Scott Weinberg | November 08, 2005
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Variety reports that Nicolas Cage and Julianne Moore will star in Revolution's "Next," which is a sci-fi action project based on a story by genre giant Philip K. Dick.

"Lee Tamahori is directing. Gary Goldman adapted the screenplay from Philip K. Dick's story "The Golden Man."

"Next" follows a man (Cage) with ability to see future events and affect their outcome. Moore plays a federal agent who pursues him as she tries to prevent a terrorist attack.

Pic is slated for 2007 release."

The works of Philip K. Dick have inspired movies such as "Blade Runner," "Total Recall," "Screamers," "Impostor," "Minority Report," "Paycheck," and the upcoming "A Scanner Darkly."

The Golden Man is a great story and the movie is off to a good start by casting Cage and Moore. Although after 'XXX State of The Union' it could also be Tamahori's swan song if he screws this one up.

This sounds tight, Cage and Moore are awsome and Tamahori is a good director. I've been hoping that Cage and Tamahori would do a film together, so this is happy news for me. As for Philip K. Dick, I've never read his stuff but Paycheck was a good movie and A Scanner Darkly looks pretty damn good.
