Trailer Bulletin: Lady in the Water

M. Night Shyamalan, director of the always talked-about "The Sixth Sense," "Unbreakable," "Signs," and "The Village," has a new flick being prepared for release next summer. It's a 'bedtime story' called "Lady in the Water," and you can check out the all-new trailer right here.

"In "Lady in the Water," a story originally conceived by Shyamalan for his children, a modest building manager named Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) rescues a mysterious young woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) from danger and discovers she is actually a narf, a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the treacherous journey from our world back to hers. Cleveland and his fellow tenants start to realize that they are also characters in this bedtime story. As Cleveland falls deeper and deeper in love with the woman, he works together with the tenants to protect his new fragile friend from the deadly creatures that reside in this fable and are determined to prevent her from returning home.

Freddy Rodriguez, Jeffrey Wright, Bob Balaban, Sarita Choudhury, Mary Beth Hurt, Cindy Cheung and Joe Reitman co-star.

WB's "Lady in the Water" floats into theaters on July 21st.

Wow that sounds really different but really good. It's interesting to see Night depart from his usual horror fair. I hope this is good!

I love all of Night's work. As usual, his pre-realase trailers don't give away anything and as usual this one has creepy written all over it.

The teaser looked so so. I like Paul Giamatti though so I will certainly check this out.

Intriguing. I'll have to give Shyamalamalan another chance, despite the fact that the teaser for The Village was equally intriguing. Better reserve judgment.

Wasnt just 3 or 4 days ago that they announced that they were not releasing a trailer until the film hit theaters?

I think it looks really interesting... and there is definatly something creepy about how the trailer ends... As a fan of every movie he has ever made, this looks to be right up my alley. Oh and Giomotti is possible my favorite actor at the moment as well.

Sounds interesting and the trailer was allright. This looks different from the usual Shyamalan movie, but I like all of his films cept for The Village, plus Giamatti's cool.

Pretty much typical of a M. Night trailer where you have no idea what to expect.
