Trailer Bulletin: A Scanner Darkly
You might have caught the teaser trailer that's been floating around for the past few months, but Warner Independent has finally unleashed a full-bore trailer for Richard Linklater's "A Scanner Darkly," which is a wonderfully strange-looking project inspired by a story by sci-fi immortal Philip K. Dick. Click here for the new trailer.
"Set in a future world where America has lost the war on drugs, an undercover cop, Fred, is one of many agents hooked on the popular drug Substance D, which causes its users to develop split personalities. Fred, for instance, is also Bob, a notorious drug dealer. Along with his superior officers, Fred sets up an elaborate scheme to catch Bob and tear down his operation."
Written and directed by Linklater (in that enjoyably odd animation style seen in "Waking Life"), "A Scanner Darkly" stars Keanu Reeves, Winona Ryder, Robert Downey Jr., and Woody Harrelson. WIP is looking at July 7th as a release date.

on Feb 23 2006 11:15 AM This probably has the greatest visual look i have ever seen. Reminds me of "Waking Life" and will probably be the next "Sin City". Also, has anyone read the Vertigo limited series "Trigger"? Because it feels loosley based on that. Specifically the scene in the second trailer where Reeves is seen coming into a room and taking off a suit of some kind, where in the comic the "Triggers" were sent to kill people and when they came home they took off their suit and went to bed with no recolection of what they did. Probably not related at all, you never know. (Reply to this) |
