Emmerich Enlists a Few Youths for "B.C." Duty
by Scott Weinberg | February 27, 2006
Discuss Article
Flashy director Roland Emmerich has begun casting his next epic, the ancient history action tale entitled "10,000 B.C." The first actors aboard will be Steven Strait and Camilla Belle, a pair of up & comers last seen in "Sky High" and "When a Stranger Calls," respectively.

Courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter: "Steven Strait and Camilla Belle will star in "10,000 B.C.," a prehistoric epic that Roland Emmerich is directing for Warner Bros. Pictures. The film centers on a young tribal mammoth hunter (Strait) at the dawn of modern man as he embarks on an epic journey through uncharted territory to secure the future of his dying tribe. In the process, he saves the one he loves (Belle). Production will begin in the spring in South Africa and Namibia."

Roland Emmerich is the mad German behind "The Day After Tomorrow," "Godzilla," and "Independence Day."

Special effects include dinosaurs whomping all around, meteorite crashing, and people slipping on the ice every now and then.....

True, but it wouldn't be a Roland Emmerich movie without the cheesy dialogue. "Quest For Fire meetsThe Chedder King."
