Arnold Back in Terminator 4?
by Gareth J. Von Kallenbach | March 27, 2006
Discuss Article
Going by reports from Moviehole and Skewed and Reviewed, Arnold Schwarzenegger may indeed be back. According to producer Mario Kassar the script for the 4th "Terminator" film has been completed and they are waiting for Arnold to become available in order to put the film into production.

This is not the first time that Arnold has been attached to a future project; a third film in the "Conan" series has also been mentioned as an option. Schwarzenegger is currenlty the Governor of California and should he not seek/win re-election, speculation is that he will return to his action roots with "Terminator 4" being chief amongst his return projects.

Few details are known about the fourth film but SKNR learned that the film centers around the rise of the human rebellion under John Connors, and how they not only survived but eventually defeated Skynet. Though this could not be confirmed, it is likely based on the ending of "T3" that the future war will indeed play a factor in the next film.

No wonder Skynet gets defeated, they use sixty-year-olds for their terminators.

The Terminator vs. Alsanali
I like to hear you say that to his face because if you did, that 60 year old Terminator would make you wet your pants just by snaring at you! Glad to see him back where he belongs.

Yeah, if arthritis doesn't get to him first. Better check his cholestoral level too and give him his insulin shot.

My point is that Arnie's terminator should've stayed dead along with the franchise with T2. While it was still good.

Awesome, even though he is not the same, I like Arnold. Those movies are fun to watch.

I could barely watch T3 because I kept asking myself "why the hell is the Terminator all old an wrinkly?" That, and who is this bad actor playing John Conner. C'mon, is this necessary? How many freakin' copies of that exact Terminator model do they have? Wouldn't people at least notice a trend of the killing machines all looking alike?

Judging how fantastic his political career is going so far, "he'll be back" in the movies sooner than later.

bad but fun sequels don't change my opinion of the originals
so, this is good news to me 'cause t4 was going to happen with or without him

the thing is that in t3 there's a lot of stuff about the plot of t4 (if they follow that line)

like the terminator killing john connor in the future because his familiar looks help the infiltration, and then john's wife taking comand and reprograming that terminator to protect john on judment day

Terminator ends with 2 for me. 3 and 4..they are pretty much like Disney sequels. No need to take them seriously.

T3 was a fun movie, but it's not as good the second time you watch it. Unlike T2, which I could watch over and over. No doubt Ahnuld's in great shape for his age, but even in T3 you could see that they caked a lot of makeup on his face and his body was much different from T2 (especially the scene where the terminators arrive naked in their time spheres). If they want to make this movie, it'd better be really soon.

T4 actually has the potential to incorporate any of the previous movies: John sending Kyle Reese back, John sending the T-1000, John's wife sending the T-1000, etc.

even though he is pretty old and robots dont age i dont think terminator 4 would be anything without Arnold. Im a big fan of Terminator 2 though, that was the best one.

They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
If they can keep Harrison Ford and Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis and and for Kristina Aguliara's sake Sean Connery coming back as action heros, they can certainly bring Arnold back..

I'd prefer to see a state of the art CGI version of "Conan the King" over Terminator 4, but what the heck.

As for thoughts on T4, if they do the span from the end of T3 to the beginning of T1, then Arnold wouldn't/shouldn't logically appear until the very end (very briefly and with lots of make-up?) -- when his series is first created or perhaps just at the moment Skynet sends him back in time to start the sequence of T1 to kill Sarah Conner.

Which begs another reclamation project.. where do you get a young looking Michael Biehn to play to play John's young father/soldier? I suppose you COULD cast Michael Biehn to play the grown up John, since as people grow older, they tend to look more and more like their parent(s).

Anybody know if Michael Biehn has a real son (nephew, cousin?) old enough to play Kyle?

A teenage-looking Linda Hamilton is probably a total wash.. she looked pretty weathered beyond her years in T2, which fit the role of a lone woman fighting the good but hard fight. Maybe she's got a daughter???

just my two centavoes..

Serious Movies??
I can't think of ANY movies made in the last 20 years that I've personally take seriously. They're MOVIES!

The last movie (everybody prepare to laugh) was probably the first "Omen".. which for at least a few hours had me actually considering the possibility of a Christian-architectured Apocalypse and Afterlife.. but that situation was part the movie and part the drugs..

But no amount of drugs could make me a serious Jedi, Trekkie, Matrix mage. Not even a Ring-bearer .. Words completely fail were I to try and describe the admiration and respect and love I have for both the Tolkien originals and the Jackson celluloid. Still just a ?

T1 -- great original idea, good script, good acting, good cool-gory Terminator (Arnold pulling out his own eye in the motel room and wiping out the socket with a towel.. Too Kewl!) .. and not bad special effects give the state of the art at the time.

T2 -- same idea further down the timeline, better script, okay acting, a decent scary Terminator (T2 rising up from the checker tile floor at the mental hospital..) but otherwise kinda cheesy special effects.

T3 -- same idea further down the timeline, no apparent script, no acting (especially the guy playing John), so-so Terminator (female but so the hell what? .. what was the point with no full frontal metallurgy?.. but decent special effects and one seriously cool chase scene.

T4 -- I just hope they bother to write a SCRIPT first.. in Sci-Fi / Fantasy a brilliant script will take care of so-so acting, over-cooked CGI, mindless chase & fight scenes and .. alack! .. too too many facial wrinkles here and there..

Good Dune prequels?
What good Dune prequels? OH do you mean the abomination of trash disguised as a prequel to Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson? Yeah, those pulp sci-fi books that bastardized an incredible epic? I hope to God that nobody touches them, they're bad enough already.
