"Transformers" Find a Fox in Their Midst
by Scott Weinberg | May 03, 2006
Discuss Article
Beautiful young actress Megan Fox ("Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen") has been signed to play the female lead in Michael Bay's "Transformers" flick. She'll be joining a cast that includes Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, Bernie Mac, and a few other non-robotic beings.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Megan Fox has signed on as the female lead in DreamWorks' "Transformers." Shia LaBeouf already has boarded the live-action adaptation of the 1980s Hasbro toy line of giant robots that morph into cars, trucks, planes and ships. Fox will play Mikaela, the love interest of LaBeouf's character. The Michael Bay-helmed film is being produced by Angry Films' Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto and Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Steven Spielberg is executive producing."

I'd really like to care about this movie... but Michael Bay is a real problem for me, I mean I'm beating a dead horse here, but Pearl was bad filmaking and so many levels and demonstrated a profound inability for Michael Bay to pay any reverance to his subject matter and I mean, that was Pearl fricken' Harbor! If you can't demonstrate reverance for Pearl fricken' Harbor what the hell are you gonna do with an 80's cartoon?

Cool, more humans! I hope they don't have any actual Transformers in this movie because that would suck.

They could be waiting until the sequel before actually showing us a transformer. Maybe the plot of the first movie is to try and transform Michael Bay into a decent film maker. Naahhhh, no one would ever believe that one!

You hope they don't have ANY? Why? But anyway, if you read the first paragraph carefully, it doesn't say there AREN'T robotic things, it says Megan Fox is joining a few other non-robotic beings in the movie, meaning there are cast members they didn't list.

There will be Transformers in this movie, you can bet.

I don't care about any of these actors...I just want to see transformers flying around all over the place blowing $hit up!

But Bernie Mac? Come on.

Michael Bay will never make a respectable motion picture...

well...

Maybe when he's like 60 and thinks "that's it, only dramatic movies from now on!"

As long as we see Michael Bay in the action movie business there will be shit to deal with in Hollywood.

Spielberg is producer......
And since that is happening, I don't think we have to worry. Spielberg has had a few flops lately, but he's still the man and I think he could make it work, BIG TIME!!! Who knows? Maybe he'll bring his buddy, George Lucas in on it.......
