Trailer Bulletin: Pulse
by Scott Weinberg | May 25, 2006
Blog Article | Discuss Article
The Japanese version was called "Kairo." The long-delayed American remake is called "Pulse," and the all-new theatrical trailer can be viewed right here.

"Imagine our wireless technologies made a connection to a world beyond our own. Imagine that world used that technology as a doorway into ours. Now, imagine that the connection we made can't be shut down. When you turn on your cell phone or log on to your e-mail, they'll get in, you'll be infected and they'll be able to take from you what they don't have anymore - life."

"Pulse" was written by Ray Wright and Wes Craven and directed by second-timer Jim Sonzero. The flick hits theaters on July 14th. And it stars Veronica Mars!

The original was so creepy and atmospheric. I only hope the American version will be so, as well. With Craven on board for the script, it stands a good chance of being at least half-decent. At least it's rated "R," which (I hope) means we can expect some gruesome FX.

Looks shot for shot very close to the original. Except they got an "OC" styled cast. Probably is going to be terrible.

The odds are weighted on it to be terrible... As you said, it has an "OC" sort of cast, which is what I hate about these Horror Flicks nowadays... I just wish they can get a spanned cast that are fit for the part, and take it from there... Look at "The Descent"... It has a OC sort of cast, but at least it makes sense to pair these girls together (It's an all girl cast by the way)...

Bleh, I still have it in my Top 20 Most Anticipated Movies of 2006 (Summer/Fall).

It looks better than I thought it would and I really like Ian Somerhalder.
