Trailer Bulletin: The Marine
The second flick to spring from WWE Films (after the woeful "See No Evil") is "The Marine" which stars wrestler John Cena as an unkillable former soldier who must rescue his hot wife from a bunch of scummy criminals.
Click right here for the trailer, which is jam-packed with goofy dialogue, numerous explosions, and Robert Patrick having a good time as an ultra-evil jerkface villain.
The annoyingly PG-13-rated "The Marine" storms into theaters on October 13th.

on Aug 07 2006 11:52 AM Holy bug up a butt that was funny! It harkens back to the old "Commando" days, except this cost a buck instead of two bucks. Bad movies often make for painfully entertaining trailers, and this is no exception. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 07 2006 11:56 AM there is 2 good things i can say about that trailer: Pretty explosions and the the hot chick that plays Kimber on Nip/tuck is in it. everything else tells me that this is the last movie WWE films ever makes. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 07 2006 01:26 PM Aww C'mon... ...doesn't anyone ever recall the critically acclaimed WWF movie 20+ years ago NO HOLDS BARRED starring thespian Hulk Hogan?? This is golden! Speaking as a wrestling afficionado, wrestlers can (somewhat) act in the ring, but very rarely on the movie screen (The Rock pushes it somewhat, but he's still limited). (Reply to this) |

on Aug 07 2006 05:43 PM I think so far, The Rock has been doing a good job in his films. But, this movie looks painfully bad! From the trailer it looks like John Cena really cant act(not a big surprise, in the ring he's horrible on the mic or as a performer) and the action does put a grin on your face, but probably not the way it was supposed to. It seems like WWE wanted to do a "The Rundown" type of film that doesnt take it self too seriously but was just one big fun action ride, but while "The Rundown" was made by people with actual talent, this seems like it has none(except for robert Patrick, who does look like he as having fun). on Aug 07 2006 10:36 PM Is it just me. . . or did Cena seem to be getting the crap kicked out of him for most of the time? (Reply to this) |

on Aug 08 2006 01:12 AM Maybe Cena won't be as annoying playing a different character instead of his WWF Marky Mark one off, homophobic wrestler character. Half the WWF fans boo Cena already, they overestimated his popularity. Gotta love the trailer bulliten though (Reply to this) |

on Aug 08 2006 07:05 AM WWE Films I would just like to state that the only movie that has lost money for WWE Films was Walking Tall. Kane's See No Evil made almost as much profit as it cost to make, $8 million/$15 million. So, as far as Vince is concerned, as long as they make $$$ then why stop making them? I like Stone Cold. He was decent in Nash Bridges and The Longest Yard. Kevin Nash was goos in The Longest Yard and TMNT 2, but not so good in Punisher. Goldberg wasnt bad in The Longest Yard or Universal Soldier The Return. Hulk Hogan, well, nothing good comes to mind. Suburban Commando? Mr. Nanny? Santa with Muscles? You can be a hater of the films all you want, but they make money. Don't see them, do your part to stop them from being made. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 08 2006 12:03 PM *Movie Spoiler* I heard this on some spoiler site, apparently, while Cena's beating up the bad guys in the final scene of the film, Edge's music hits and he comes out and challenges Cena to a match at Survivor Series. The movie then ends, as we have to wait 'till next week for Cena's answer. (Reply to this) |

on Aug 09 2006 06:07 AM In reply to this comment (#841651) Not that it matters much but I think "The Rundown" and that other movie "The Rock" was in, with that "Jackass" guy, was produced by the WWE. They were not WWE Films at that point but I think Vince had a hand in both those films. (Reply to this) |
