"Bond 22" Moves to November 2008

I know it's a little early to start worrying about the James Bond movie after this November's "Casino Royale" -- but not if you're the studio bankrolling one of the planet's most popular franchises. With that in mind, Sony is now targeting November 7th (yes, of 2008) for the arrival of what's presently being called "Bond 22."

From ComingSoon.net: "Columbia Pictures has moved James Bond 22 -- the yet-to-be-named film that will be produced after November's "Casino Royale" -- to Nov. 7, 2008, rather than the original date of May 2, 2008, where it was in competition with Jon Favreau's "Iron Man" adaptation.

Sony Pictures Entertainment vice chairman Jeff Blake told The Hollywood Reporter that the studio, along with partners MGM and British production company EON Prods., are in talks to bring on a new director after Roger Michell ("Notting Hill") bowed out of the project.

The new date also gives the filmmakers the standard two years to complete the next film -- the usual time between Bond movies. "Eighteen months was a very short window," Blake said. "We're going to stay the course."

Daniel Craig will star as 007 in the 22nd Bond film as well."

IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RELEASED ON: 2-007-07-07-07-07
I can't beleive they passed up a chance to release a Bond movie on the seventh second of the seventh minute of the seventh hour of the seventh day of the seventh month of 2007.

It would have read relase date is: 2-007-07-07-07-07-07.
Someone missed a great marketing strategy.

Yes and with the technology in the year 3007, Sean Connery might be Bond again!

Really they should have waited until next year for Casino Royale, just so they could milk the 2-007 advertising for all it is worth. Still, it's good they realized they can't rush another movie that soon.
