The picture next to Christian Bale's pic is obviously Craig Bierko, and the picture next to Mr. Crowe's name above that servies as a link to his page is of Glenn Ford and Van Heflin. Can't find any pictures of Mr. Crowe??? (Reply to this) |

"The Departed," a remake of the Hong Kong drama "Internal Affairs," is getting really strong marks right now (8 positiive reviews, 0 negative reviews). Plus it's directed by filmmaker-of-our-time Martin Scorcese. So don't automatically think James Mangold's "3:10 to Yuma" will be a suckfest. You may be surprised. Of course, I may be lying. The caliber of "All The King's Men" looked Oscar-worthy, yet that got mostly negative reviews. (Reply to this) |

Mikeal420 writes: on Oct 02 2006 08:31 AM In reply to this comment (#845419) "Internal Affairs" is a movie starring Richard Gere, "InFernal Affairs" is what you're thinking of. Also, I wouldn't call "The Departed" a remake, the screenwriter even refused to watch the original Hong Kong version--and as much as I loved "Infernal Affairs", this is probably the only Asian strait to American remake I'm actually looking foward to, so I agree with you on that. From what I hear Scorccese uses strong character development, something that the original was lacking Hollywood does need to come up with more original ideas rather than depending on East-Asia for them though. Most Americans will never see great Asian films because distributers would rather buy the rights for a remake rather than market them to us (Reply to this) |
