Sleaze-tastic "Grind House" Trailer Hits The Net!
by Jen Yamato | October 11, 2006
Discuss Article
If you missed last night's Spike TV Scream Awards, you NEED to see the exclusive, awesome, limb-ripping, trailer for Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double bill gore-fest, "Grind House" (Check out the promo posters here)!

The footage is up on (where else?) YouTube, and if you notice the excited screaming during the trailer, that's just the lucky folks in attendance at last night's Scream Awards peeing their pants at the glimpse of the awesomeness that will be "Grind House." Click here to watch.

"Grind House" is, of course, Tarantino and Rodriguez's cooperative homage to slasher cinema comprised of two separate films (Rodriguez's "Planet Terror" and Tarantino's "Death Proof") played together, complete with fake trailers.

Promo posters for "Grind House"'s movies-within-a-movie, "Planet Terror" and "Death Proof"

The trailer shown at the Spike TV Scream Awards is actually only for Rodriguez's half. "Planet Terror," which stars Marley Shelton, Rose McGowan, Naveen Andrews, Josh Brolin, Freddy Rodriguez, Nicky Katt, and The Black Eyed Peas' Fergie.

But it is bad ass.

Motorcycle chases! Amputations! Exploding bodies! Rose McGowan exotic dancing! And that's only in the first ten seconds.

Plus, catch a peek at a fake trailer starring Danny Trejo as "Machete." This movie is going to blow minds.

"Grind House" hits theaters April 6, 2007.

I've been looking forward to this ever since I heard Tarantino and Rodriguez were collaborating on this project, and the trailer only furthered my anticipation for this.

Can't wait for April!

Tomatometer Prediction: 27%

Sorry, I love the directors and see where they are trying to go here. But it's too derivitive and trying too hard. This will take the same hype and blow road that Snakes on a Plane took. Hope I'm wrong.

Let the flames directed toward me commence.

Crenshaw,

You're right. They'll be fun for the limited few.

See ya,

I love the gritty feel of it. Reminds me of my childhood and those crazy trailers I would watch in the run-down theater we went to see flicks. Interesting stuff. I'm going to reserve judgement until I actually see it. But Tarantino rarely fails to impress (except Jackie Brown).

check out my hoamge to 70s flicks; in pre-production.. should be shooting within a couple weeks....

i'll go see grindhouse, mainly because the dillapidated theaters and weirdoes who went to these movies were the most interesting parts about the weirdo sadism that went on in these 70s slasher flicks... anyone want to know what nihilism means? spend 30 or 40 hours watching these movies... i spit on your grave, last house on the left... up to the early 80s stuff like Maniac and Mother's Day... watching people being tortured-- innocents usually... weird... we are a bunch of weird m'fers.....

GRIND CINEMA NEEDS TO MAKE A COMEBACK IN GENERAL. that said, i think that this might be the best segway to getting new horror films made out there. i mean sure they tried with the remakes and seeing that the only original horror that we got this year was slither, hard candy and hostel (i.m.h.o.), this will be the gate way to some fresh ideas. either that or we'll get another wave of remakes =P

yeah yeah, looks great, love the machete bit

I think is little weird to compare this to snakes on a plane, you are comparing the reigning king of american cinema and his sidekick to the director of final destination 2

OMG the crazy babysitter twins????!!!!!

Ditto. Forget about summer '07 (Spidey, Pirates, & Shrek 3), spring is where it's at w/ 300 and Grind House.

Tom Savini, Michael Parks and Naveen Andrews? I didn't realize they were in this!

This has only reaffirmed in my mind that this will be an incredibly fun movie. QT is overrated in my eyes, but maybe he can show me what goes on past all the trying-too-hard dialouge of his.
