Spike, Denzel, Clive & Jodie to Reunite for "Inside Man" Sequel
by Scott Weinberg | November 02, 2006
Discuss Article
If there was one successful flick from last year that I didn't think would earn a sequel, it was Spike Lee's "Inside Man." Shows how much I know, right?

From Variety: "Spike Lee and Brian Grazer are developing a sequel to "Inside Man" for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Lee is still in negotiations on a helming deal for the project, but he's already working with the original's writer, Russell Gewirtz, on a script.

For now, the pair are keeping their sequel concept under wraps, including whether it would involve the return of the original's main characters, played by Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster."

Now I want to see the flick again (88% Tomatometer), for some strange reason. Click here for the full story.

You're right, how is this possible?

I saw it in theaters but was told (by friends and DVD reviews) not to watch it again because of obvious plot holes that become apparrent after multiple viewings. Is this true?

i never saw the movie in theaters but bought it to watch on DVD when it came out. I thought it was entertaining, but i wasn't that impressed, and i guess i can't say i'd be interested in seeing a sequel. the only thing i liked about it was Clive Owen, that's about it.

What, Spike should have better movies to direct.

Spike lee is already working with Tom Cruise and Martin Scorsese on the film Selling time. This film would half to come out in 2008 if he is making it. The good thing about this is Spike do not make movies for the boxoffice. He makes movie to tell a good story or to get the point across. If spike do Inside man 2 it will not be because of the boxoffice hit the first one was. That could mean that Inside man 2 could be better then the first.

Very overrated film with a very predictable ending. It had some nice Spike moments, but I thought the whole thing was beneath him. The whole cast was on cruise-control, even Clive Owen.

I enjoyed Inside Man very much. I found the characters intriguing and the writing clever. The caper was secondary to the dialogue in my opinion. I would definetly watch a sequel, as long as Clive, Jodie, and Denzel were signed on.

keep denzel and jodie. as much as i like clive, i think he would be dispensable in the sequel to let denzel face off against a new "bad guy", i dont see how clive fits in the sequel. but then again im not a hollywood screenplay writer dude... it is one of my favorite movies of the last five years...

So will Owen narrate that one too? Will the sequel be called "Outside Man"?

Don't get it
What is with all the attention this movie got? Are people just getting used to mediocrity at the Cineplex these days? IMO not one of Lee's best.
