Tom Cruise, Robert Redford & Meryl Streep On the "Lamb"
by Scott Weinberg | November 16, 2006
Discuss Article
One surefire way to make people forget you got jilted by a studio is to, oh I dunno, BUY an old movie studio AND sign on to work opposite Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. That Tom Cruise is a pretty busy guy. (And ok, he didn't BUY United Artists, but it looks like he'll be running the show.)

From Variety & ComingSoon.net: "Tom Cruise next will star in Lions for Lambs, a Robert Redford-directed drama that will co-star Redford and Meryl Streep.

The movie will be Cruise's first outing for United Artists since he and C/W partner Paula Wagner agreed to revive the company for Harry Sloan's MGM.

"Lambs" is a Matthew Carnahan-scripted drama that consists of three interconnected storylines: Cruise as a congressman who interacts with a journalist (Streep); Redford as an idealistic professor who attempts to inspire a privileged student in his class; and a third storyline about a pair of American soldiers wounded in enemy territory, one of whom is Redford's former student."

Sounds nice. Then again anything with Streep in it I'll watch.
But Cruise, I utterly hate him after his whole publicity stunt year. Anyways I'll have to learn to like him again.

what does Cruise's "publicity stunt" have to do with his abitlity to act in films? All the greats are usually eccentrics.

Plus what did he do that was so bad? If I got to sleep with Katie Holmes I'd be jumping up and down on Oprah's couch too!!

Hell yea nice to see Cruise sign on to an interesting film. Plus Streep is awesome, I'm sure this will be great and will hopefully do really well.

exactly... Tom Cruise may be nutty at times... but on the screen he has a smoldering pressense. This sounds like it may be an interesting film.

i dont know if jumping on a coach makes you eccentric or just pathetic but i can diss his acting abilities - he is one of the best around - but everytime i look at his face i just want to hit it!
Anything with Streep and Redford in is surely wortha viewing

Well, I donīt care about the hooplas he pulls in real life for as long as he puts out good movies. I like Redford and Streep is a great actress. Loved her in Devil wears Prada and loved her in Out Of Africa. A Streep/Redford reunion sounds great and adding Tom to the mix doesnīt hurt me either. Heīs a good enough actor in movies.
