I mean, they had the actors, the sets, New Zealand, and Gollum all right there. Peter Jackson could have said, "I know I said we were only going to make three, but how do you kids feel about making just one more?" It reminds me of what General Patton said after World War II was over, "Hey, now that we've beaten German, let's go conquer Russia.
