I really thought Apocalypto was a great movie. Even though the movie was 218 minutes, I did not notice the time. I was engulfed in historic time and place. Even though it might not be that factual, Gibson was successful in taking you back to a different time. Yes, it is violent, but a lot of societies in ancient times had violence like Rome and the Vikings. I am also glad that Gibson did a movie about Pre-Columbian times. No one has ever made a movie about Mesoamerica and Pre-Columbian Mexico. It is a first and a success in my opinion. I have seen a lot of biased reviewers like Jan Stuart 'discuss' Gibson more than the movie. People like that make me want to see the movie more. (Reply to this) |
