Boll Has Plate Full with $60M "Dungeon Siege," "BloodRayne 2," more
by RT Staff | January 04, 2007
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

A recent interview with game-to-film auteur Uwe Boll over at GameDaily BIZ has the filmmaker discussing his plans regarding the "BloodRayne" sequel (perhaps a trilogy!), as well as the status of his epic, "In The Name of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale," not to mention even more projects in the making. Who the hell keeps giving this man money to make movies?

Just reading how serious the article takes this man (which I'm sure is intentional), makes me laugh. Boll's quotes are priceless..."Rayne's still using her swords to fight with, but she also has weapons because it's the Wild West."...If he doesn’t, I think we should go for someone who looks like Edward Carnby."

what happens if Boll passes the directing duties to someone else for Alone in the Dark 2 and the movie is actually good?

yeah, i'm sure all five of them are foaming at the bit to see that.

HAHAHAHAHA if he can't get back 8.5mil then he should be shot. Scratch that, he should be shot anyway.

There is an audience out there for crap.

This guy is a total clown and his quotes are priceless, like described above:

"If he accepts that, he's the first choice to play him as Edward Carnby again. If he doesn’t, I think we should go for someone who looks like Edward Carnby."

That one is a keeper. Instead of Bushisms we need Bollisms for the film industry.

He is becoming a side show and I am sure there are those out there that love to see his movies to just sit and laugh at how bad they are. If you think about it, it could be kind of genius, in a craptastic kind of way.

Thinking about it all...I just want to say I wish Germany had funded Hitler to make movies. It's through this outlet that Boll 'believes' he still rules the world, it may be best.

I don't know, but I heard a rumor that maybe movie studios get some kind of tax break if they shell out cash to fledgling foreign flim companies. I don't know if this is true, but I'd appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this subject.

With that being said, Uwe Boll needs to die. In a fire. While being eaten by lions. Which are also on fire. And rabid.

i saw bloodrayne. holy crap did that movie suck. i of course recommended it to every single one of my friends claiming it was awesome. It has the single worst, most awkward sex scene ever recorded too.

can't wait for more of that! (help us all)

Well, apparently Far Cry is going to desacrated by Mr. Bowl, not a worthy end for one of my favorite PC game franchises (sigh). For some unknown reason Mr. Bowl's movies actually make quiet a lot of money although their level of crapiness, dumbness and incoherence reaches unforseen levels.

P.S Arpeggio....go fuck yourself....

he gets money for movies due to a german tax loop hole

people who endorse the movie can write it off on their taxes if it isn't successful and if it is, god forbid they ever are, they get a cut

so no there is no stopping him

i watched bloodrayne cause i had nothing else to watch on tv...i watched it out of curiosity cause i had been hearing about how bad of a director Boll is, but i still hadnt seen any of his movies, and so, i wanted to see for my self. i found out the Where's Waldo books have more intellectual fortitude than the directing abilties of Boll. also, Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, and House of the Dead are on IMDB's 100 worst movies ever made list.

I'm just wondering why Boll makes movies of such crappy games. Bloodrayne? Crap. Postel? Crap. Alone in the Dark? The first was groundbraking for its time, the recent one crap. House of the Dead? Good as a railed shooter, but still.... Dungeon Siege? Not crap, but still over-rated and known a LOT more for its action and (at the time) cutting-edge graphics than for a story. Most video-games are just don't have good stories and the ones that do are too long to work as a movie. Why must Ewe Boll now get his hands on Far Cry? That game was actually good!

somehow, Boll has gotten it into his head that he is a talented film maker and to prove it he staged a boxing match between himself and his critics. Exactly what did that prove? It didn't make Blood Rayne any more interesting... it didn't erase that monstrosity "Alone in the Dark"... and it did not give me the 90 minutes of my life back wasted on "house of the Dead"... I think that anything this hack touches turnes to crap... so pray he doesn't actually get his hands on a decebt game screaming to be made into film.

I can honestly say that I was a better filmmaker when I started making short films for my high school video production class in Grade 11. By this time, I think I've ran a marathon around him in turns of quality.

I wish someone would pass a law so he could not waste anymore celluloid and resources better suited for something else.

Have you seen that pic
I think it might be in a magazine, it has Uwe Boll sitting with a dog and its captioned "I just hit 2 birds with one stone by putting this dog in my latest films Okami and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" I think it could be EGM or one of those gaming mags. I thought that was hilarious.

And telling your friends that a Uwe Boll flick that you seen was fricken awesome and a must see. Has to be one of the most ultimate pranks. Because for one they paid to get into that piece of shit and either watched it crying to themselves waiting for it to end and didn't leave because they wasn't gonna waste money (my sole intention for staying to watch Ultraviolet... and I was doing my own Mystery Theater 3000 as well with my friends. I know talking in the theater when the movie is played is bad but that was a horrible movie, god will forgive me) or walking out on it. And then bitching to you basically being the reason they seen it.

Too bad I can't do this because I've bitched about Uwe Boll so many times around my friends I think they would know who I was talking about.

Seriously, how fucked up is it that he got his clutches on Far Cry. People won't ever understand how great of a game that is if they never played it and only heard of Uwe Boll's desacration. God forbid someone hands over the half-life or command and conquer universes or any other games I've grown up with. I think painkiller and unreal tournament are more his style. Can i even use that word style?

He's admitted that he gets his actors by waiting until really famous people have projects that fall through at the last moment, and then he snatches them up while they're still worrying about suddenly not having work. He considers it very important to have famous actors in his movies, regardless of whether or not they fit the roles.

I heard Uwe Boll also has another project in thw works, this time it's got a budget of an estimated 180 million dollars (American). It's called 'Sky God Bird'. It's about a race of Monkey industrialists who discover a hole where flying radioactive goldfish seduce Virgin College Students (Note capitalization, "Virgin College Students" is a race of slutty chimps), in order to learn the meaning of true love. It's supposed to be a romantic comedy/horror/suspense/prequel/adventure. Did I mention Eric Stoltz is in it?
