George Clooney and Robert De Niro to Play Competing Crimestoppers
It's always fun to see two of Hollywood's biggest stars going toe-to-toe in a hard-boiled crime flick, and now it looks like we'll have a new pairing to enjoy: Robert De Niro and George Clooney, anyone?
According to MTV.com, De Niro and Clooney will soon be co-starring in Marc Forster's "36," which is a remake of the 2004 French film "36 Quai des Orfevres." In that film, two detectives battle to see who'll be the first to bring down a brazen gang of armored-car burglars. Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil originally played the two plain-clothers who were forced to compete for a promotion, but this time it looks to be Bobby D. and George C.
Sounds like a pretty good start!
First up for De Niro is an adaptation of Art Linson's "What Just Happened," while Clooney's always got at least three projects on the stove. (He can soon be seen in "Ocean's 13.")

on Jan 04 2007 07:22 AM [b]really what's re I've watched the original 36, wasn't that good, now we'll have to wait and watch another version. what happen to ( I turnned down the scripts that i was given Huh HUhuh ????? HUH...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\ I mean we talkin about superstars here, is it because people might think that well we haven tseen him in a year he must have retired! look at jodie foster, one movie at the time and it alway turn out good, well except her last one, flightplan. wich sucked big tme Look I get i, it doesn't matter anymore that superstars would just start in crappy movies nowdays, you know it's sad though, to watch countless of remakes and sequels we dont give a shit about, I feel very betrayed by this , I do fell bad so much that, I have to look for some other hobby then checking out the latest films and find just garbagge. I dont watch movies like I use to, and it's because, THERE IS NEVER ANYTHING interesting anymore. why not just adapt from novels, i mean most of adaptation turn out well good. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 04 2007 10:02 AM I think it sounds pretty damn sweet with De Niro, Clooney, and a good directer in Forster. Plus not all remakes are bad, case in point one of the best films of last year, The Departed. And okito, Jodie Foster's last movie was Inside Man, not Flightplan. (Reply to this) |

on Jan 08 2007 06:37 AM In reply to this comment (#852320) I am tired of seeing trolls in this site. The worst thing is that they don't have a clue about the industry. Dude a bad movie can be remade so that the script can be good. The only example that comes to my mind right now is Buffy the vampire slayer which was inverse, it was a bad movie that turn out to be a hit show, the departed is an example of remaking a movie that was good and turn it into a masterpiece, Pirates of the Carribbean succeded in making a fun, hit movie even though Pirate movies had a long streak of crappy movies.
