Guess the Tomatometer as "Ghost Rider" Flies Past the Critics
by Scott Weinberg | February 08, 2007
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Summary

The New York Post's Lou Lumenick informs us that Sony's (very) long-awaited "Ghost Rider" would be landing in theaters next week without making a pit stop with the movie press. And that means two things: 1. The movie is probably not very good, based on the average Tomatometer (15 percent) of unscreened movies; 2. It's time to play Guess the Tomatometer! Back to Article

elektra was worse than superman returns. the problem was superman was that there was no action and kate bosworth. the problem with elektra was the entire movie. the acting, script, fight scenes, and everything else in the movie. maybe catwoman, bathman & robin, batman forever, the punisher, dardevil, spawn, and x men 3 are just more movies that were worse than superman returns.

I thought from the trailers it had the weird crappy cgi look of Daredevil or Elektra. Doesn't look dark at all. It kind of has that overly glossy, made for kid's toys, more purple-ly than black and dark color scheme look. I hate Daredevil and Elektra, I hate the director pretentiously uses three names (probably because the name Mark Johnson is so generic and boring), I hate the look of it, and I mostly hate Nic Cage save a few films but especially for Ghost Rider.

This will suck.

Give me 300, please.

How the hell did The Hitcher break 20%? That movie was truly pointless and awful.

Not all un-screened movies are bad?

Please tell me how you can't cringe reading the list of unscreened movies over the past year. Snakes got 68% but that movie was worthless.

Wrong on Elektra
Check the credits on Elektra Mark Steven Johnson did not direct or do anything else with that horrible movie. Bad mouth him all you want for Daredevil, but don't add a horrible film just to say that Ghostrider will suck. I say give him a chance.

I really want to like this movie. I really wanted to like DareDevil. And Superman Returns. I'm getting used to disappointment. A Ghost Rider insurance commercial for goodness' sake.

93% Studio Execs if Box Office is good. (Just enough to agree on a sequel)

Actually it wasnt. Superman Returns had bad ating, bad story, bad cgi, bad everything. All those movies you named are 100 times better than Superman Returns. You have no credibilty if you think that Punisher, Daredevil, and X-MEN 3 was worse than Superman Returns. Go away your right to talk has been revoked.

i'll guess 10%, but i think that is being generous, this movie looks atrocious. that being said, i'll likely be an idiot and go see it, maybe as a dbl feature w/ breach, or i'll just rent it someday.

as for where it will rank in the pantheon of comic book movies, probably above elektra (which i haven't see) but below punisher. superman returns was better than either of those, and at the time i thought better than x3. having just rewatched x3, i actually prefer it now to superman returns, which i found overly long and snoozirific. out of them all, i've liked x2 the best, then superman, then spidey 1 and spidy 2, then batman 1, then it really falls off down to batman begins (which i found boring at times and ras a'ghul character was caca and the plot to destroy gotham..ugh)...but you start hitting the cesspool with FF, DD, and then u get flushed to the sewage treatment plant where u find punisher elektra and this one...not sure which one will be the biggest steamer err stinker but anyways no one is reading this anymore so blah blah blah..

Trailer looks awful and I hate Nicholas Cage. I'm also not a big fan of Ghost Rider, but if the movie looked good, I would have given it a chance.
