"Iron Man" Will be a Trilogy

Not all that surprising, really, but cool nonetheless: Jon Favreau's upcoming "Iron Man" movie is intended to be the first flick in a series of three. Sounds good to me!

AICN's Quint recently visited director Favreau at his "Iron Man" production offices and was treated to a whole bunch of pre-production artwork, most of which he describes right here -- in very thorough detail. Cool to know that a comics enthusiast found the artwork more than appealing, but the most interesting news was this:

"Spider-Man" style, the whole "Iron Man" cast (Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges) is apparently locked up for a three-picture run. Also hinted at: Terrence Howard's character will become the villain "War Machine," but not in the first movie.

yeah warmachine with Rhodes as it's pilot was always a good guy to my knowledge, although I could see how he could at some time be opposed to Tony Starks Iron Man. I would see that more as two heroe's with different views rather then a Spider-man/greengoblin friend vs friend affair.

Rhodes took over the Iron Man suit when Stark went into a really bad relapse. Because the suit was made for Stark's brain or whatever, Rhodes started getting more and more violent as Iron Man. When Stark came back, he helped Rhodes improve and maintain his armor, but Rhodes thought that he was trying to take back the armor and turned against him. After they fought each other and the suit was off Rhodes they became close friends again and sometime later the War Machine suit was built.

Dude what the hell are you talking about? I am perplexed at how nonsensical your ramblings are... no social chemistry, different universes, WTF? How can you predict that these actors will have no chemistry without seeing them together on screen? You can't! These are four brilliant actors and I would be surprised if they couldn't pull this off together as an ensemble. All I can say is:

"At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Iron Man will be amazing...now that's a prediction you can put a stamp on.

Iron Man was the one major Marvel character I've never been able to really enjoy. Maybe the movie'll change my mind. Then again, I've never gotten into Ghost Rider. Or Elektra. Or Catwoman. Or Howard the Duck. Oh, who am I kidding, I loved Howard the Duck. Not the movie. That was dung. I do trust Favreau though. And Downey is a good actor. We'll see how it works.

So far I'm not impressed with anything about this film, I think planning a trilogy before the first film is released is a little presumptuous. It's not like Iron Man is that popular compared to Batman and Spiderman or even the Fantastic Four, I still don't see this film doing anything.

I see this film grossing about 100 million. Nothing to laugh at, but short of Batman, Superman, or Spiderman. Just a prediction. I'll be there though, that's for sure. I've been looking forward to this for a while, and I don't even like the Iron Man comics.
