Bruckheimer Hints About "Pirates" Spinoffs

It's been well-reported that Johnny Depp would have no problem staying on with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, and it seems like producer Jerry Bruckheimer just might have a few tricks up his sleeve.

Apparently the original trilogy will remain a self-possessed unit, but that doesn't mean there couldn't be a few spinoff titles. Here's what the producer told The Herald Sun: "This is the end [of the current trilogy], but whether one of the characters or a couple of the characters continue on, it’s a possibility ... Certainly, in a moment at the end of the film there is a hope that something else might happen."

That seems to be about all the tidbits J.B. will divulge regarding future "Pirates" plans, but come on. We're all experienced movie geeks. If you think this franchise is going to stop at only three mega-profitable flicks, you're nuts!

Having said that, here are a few suggestions: "Pintel & Righetti Go to White Castle," "The Snooty Adventures of Commodore Norrington," "Mr. & Mrs. Davy Jones," and "King Kong vs. The Kraken."

I hope they do a spinoff where the little monkey and the kraken enter a wormhole that sends them to early 21st century New York. Traditional action/comedy buddy movie with obligatory sequel where they team up with Joe Pesci and wild and wacky adventures ensue.

Isn't Pesci a bit old for that? Ooh, good scene for the sequel when Pesci can have that awesome "I'm getting too old for this shit" line. That would be total awesomeness.

But there should be a younger, better 3rd wheel actor for that?

It should be banned from scripts, along with "Oooh, that's gotta hurt", "I got to get me one of those." and shots of people getting hit in the crotch. It's just not funny anymore.

Just so long as there's no scenes where Jack shakes his fists, looks up and yells "Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!", then count me in! ;-)

...and no Ewoks or Jar-Jar, unless it's a scene showing them trapped (and slowly drowning) on a rapidly sinking sailing ship, ablaze and riddled with cannonfire from the Black Pearl. ;-)

I think he missed the whole thing, when the OP wanted a movie about The Kraken and a monkey.

Oooh! New line! The Monkey and The Kraken can be having an argument and the Kraken would say "Do you understand the words coming out of my teethy gapping hole?"

It should have Chris Tucker as the voice of the Kraken. I thought about having him as the monkey since the monkey is more annoying, but the general audience would feel having a black male voicing an annoying monkey that gets pushed around 'racism.'

I can already see Sharpton wanting Capt Jack to walk the Plank.

Well I think its obvious from these pictures that this movie focuses on Chinese pirates in a plot to bootleg their own movie and setup an international dvd scam. Jack wants a cut of the internet sells of said bootleg. So obviously the sequel will feature modern day hacker/pirates writing a program so complex that it creates a wormhole within the kraken's mouth pulling all of his eaten victims into a never-ending press junket tour thereby promoting further bootleg sales. Its complex but it works on screen- you'll see.

So the Kraken and the monkey are warped into the ocean, modern times. The Kraken gets captured by some big game hunters on a boatwho want to make expensive luggage and sushi out of him. They take the Kraken some big factory that's contributing to global warming on some island somewhere. The monkey then has to find his buddy and release him from the evil big game hunters. The monkey gets to the shores of NY City and runs into an old Asian mystic in some dark alley who turns him into a human. The monkey enlists the help of some young troubled teens with no self-esteem, but amazing computer skills. Together they track down the evil factory through live satelite imaging, that they somehow can access through their computers, and convince one of the teens' Mother, who happens to be a lawyer for the EPA, that this factory has to be shut down. Then there's a big scene with the human monkey, the teens, the EPA, and military because it's cool that way, showing up to shut down the illegal factory and release all the endangered animals held captive there. There's a big gun fight with cool slow motion action and a senseless chase scene. The villians set the factory to self-destruct, because all factories have this capability, and the teens manage to stop it from blowing up with a computer virus they create in twenty seconds of random typing on one of their laptops. The evil big game hunters are arrested, the factory doesn't blow up, and the teens are now all happy and ready to contribute positively to the world from now on. At this point the Monkey magically transforms back to his true form, says good-bye to his teen friends and rides off with the Kraken to the music, "We are family .....". The End

Bam! Now I want my millions of dollars for my brilliant plot.

Why can't people stop at 3!? ... Some movies have many ways they good go to .... But pirates : Ive seen it all ... The second was worse than the first en the third looks the same... I think they are scruwing the legandary first pirates movie with these sequels

i think it is possible to make good sequals if the script is strong and the story is unique.........if you stick to that formula and have a good director you can make as many sequals as you want In my opinion.........

POTC 3 was great :-] I hope they make a fourth one, as it seemed possible with the open ending. If they did, it would probably be about Jack tryng to get to the fountain of youth and getting The Pearl back, I presume, but could they do 2 movies about Jack getting The Pearl back? :-S (Talking bout CotB, as that is his main goal in that film too).
