LaBeouf Will Follow Orders for "Indy IV"
Shia Labeouf is a very outspoken actor, stating what he wants for the press. Even when rumored for "Indy IV," he insisted he did not want to be comic relief. Now that he is confirmed, Labeouf plans to give Steven Spielberg whatever he wants.
"Well, you don't make any demands to Steven Spielberg," said LaBeouf. "You just say, 'Yeah, all right, great. That sounds like a good thing to me.' And Lucas isn't involved as Spielberg with the actors, it's all Steven, but I don't imagine I'll be questioning anything he says. Of course you have to find your voice as an artist, you have to have the tools, you gotta have some say. But I don't imagine it's going to be very easy to say, 'You know Steven, I don’t think that's correct. I think I should do it that way.'"
Of course, this is still early speculation. LaBeouf has not started filming or even seen the script. "We're still trying to figure it out. We haven't gotten in any rehearsals. It's just been a lot of stunt rehearsals and weapons training and stuff like that."
And of course he can't talk about the stunt training either. Maybe it's some whip work. But he did say he has not tried on any hats. "I don't think my character will be wearing a fedora."

He's had - I'm just guessing here - a little more success as a filmmaker than you. Oh and wasn't he kind of co-creator of the franchise? You're right you probably know better than him. Never mind. anaidni writes: on May 25 2007 12:25 AM Excuse me, sir. I should have remembered to add, "my opinion," to the last given comment. Check other opinions out on this subject and you'll see that I'm not alone. Spielberg is a genius. Yes, he's had not just a little-but-a lot more experience as a fillmmaker than me. I'm a loyal fan of the trilogy and of his other works-as other audience members are that still know when something just won't work. Being a geek is fun. You make indie movies and write new scripts and have your first novel published in a few months and hope it'll sell well and lay the grounds for several scripts registered recently with the WGA. The most recent indie film already has a distributor lined up and will be released soon. Ya gotta start somewhere. Who knows where? I registered many plays and screenplays-4 of which have already been produced and have garnered me enough money to buy the computer that I'm typing on right now. So, I suppose that I'm not so anonymous anymore. This is just my off time. It's hard to be entertained at the movies anymore. Who the hell will argue that? Certainly not the critics with the first few offerings this summer-or-the fans. "Transformers" looks good-but-I'm looking more forward to seeing the robots in action-I don't know about anybody else-and-again-no insult to Shia. I'm sure he will serve just fine in that one. I've also directed several many live theatrical productions with very decent reviews-which helps with income, too. I just don't really need to post my name or resume on here. Have a nice night. Count_Vertigo writes: on May 25 2007 01:23 AM I think Shia LaBeouf is getting a little ahead of himself. Being an outspoken (aka difficult) actor is not exactly a good thing. This can especially be said of him, being that he's only in his early 20's and his best known work so far has been Disney's "Even Stevens". Sure, he's had a couple decent movies come out, but playing second fiddle to a toy chain from the 80's does not give you the clout to tell an Oscar winning director with decades of experience behind him that you don't "want to be comic relief". There are way too many actors out there that would kill for a role like that, especially with Steven Spielberg at the helm. This latest "sound like a good thing to me" statement I think was something that was encouraged of him by his very nervous manager. Drop the attitude Shia. You may be a young actor on the rise, but don't forget that Dakota Fanning has a more prestigious resume than you do at the moment. And she even outacted Tom Cruise while maintaining a very humble, positive demeanor. (Reply to this) |

But after reading this little snippet I thnk my initial assessment was right. (Reply to this) |
