on Jun 13 2007 07:20 AM I can dig it, but in a weird statement from a heterosexual man I hope she doesn't have a sex scene in this. Seriously it's like watching corky from Life Goes On trying to have sex when Ms Weisz gets busy on camera. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 07:21 AM so what exactly is this movie about? since its directed by peter jackson im guessing its an extremely long action adventure (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 07:38 AM In reply to this comment (#869234) Actually, no, it's more of a fantasy drama about a 14-year-old girl who is raped and murdered and watches from heaven as her family tries to make sense of the tragedy and also as the police try to find her killer. It's more along the lines of Jackson's "Heavenly Creatures." It's a wonderful book and if anyone can pull off the realism/fantasy blend, it will be Peter. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 08:16 AM I'll be interested in seeing another Peter Jackson movie. Haven't really made up my mind about whether I like him beyond the LOTRs movies. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 08:31 AM In reply to this comment (#869236) Oh don't get me wrong she's gorgeous, but after seeing her sex scenes in Enemy at the Gates and I Want You she just looks mentally deficient mid-coitus in both those movies. It's very odd. Watch them, you've never seen someone who looks more uncomfortable having sex or pretending to have sex as the case may be. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 08:38 AM In reply to this comment (#869240) Haven't seen I Want You, but wasn't the scene in Enemy at the Gates meant to be sort of uncomfortable? They were doing it around a bunch of other people and they had to be silent. But hey, as men we become pretty mentally deficient during sex. It's hard to use mental powers when performing, so maybe she shares the same affliction. And sorry abou this conversation Mr. Aronofsky, if you're reading this. She's lovely. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 09:30 AM Lovely Bones would have been the perfect story for Stanley Kubrick to turn into a movie if he was still alive. However since he's not, I think that Peter Jackson is the only other director with the vision to take it on and having Rachel Weisz on board means the cast is off to a great start. I’m looking forward to seeing who Jackson picks to play the 14 year old. If she was old enough, Lovely Bones could have been Dakota Fanning's Taxi Driver because that role definitely needs a young actress with her confidence and ability. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 09:40 AM Jackson and Weisz are amazing, I never have read the book, but this sounds very promising. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 10:14 AM Read the book! For all you who have said they have not read the book - READ IT. It is an amazing piece of fiction. It's a bit Oprah (I think it was on her book list in fact) but don't let that scare you away. After you read it you will see that Jackson is a perfect fit for this adaptation. And if you have not seen Heavenly Creatures, what the hell are you doing on RT? :-) And Rachel Wiesz is hotness on a stick. Prrrr... (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 01:34 PM Man I just don't know if I can watch this. I started reading "Lucky" by Sebold, and I just couldn't get through it. Not that it isn't well written, it's just that rape is an INCREDIBLY uncomfortable subject for me, which is weird since no one I know has been raped. Any time I hear about rape it just kind of puts me into crazed vigilante mode. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 02:20 PM Nice! This gives me hope that the movie may do the book justice. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 04:12 PM In reply to this comment (#869245) King Kong Sucked? And this has what to do with Lovely Bones? Oh, I get it, this is your way of sneaking in the fact that you don't like Jackson! Gee, aren't you the clever one! (Reply to this) |

on Jun 13 2007 04:25 PM In reply to this comment (#869245) "King Kong sucked. I find Weisz kind of gross. I bet she has feet like a hobbit." Yeah and judging by your comment, I bet you have the mind of a moron. Stick to Barney and Mister Rogers bub, because you're in grownup company here. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 14 2007 12:59 AM Rachel Weisz is like a stick pig. I bet somehow that slut is gonna make it so she can get naked again. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 14 2007 04:11 AM I thought King Kong was a good movie. It had one of the greatest action suspense sequences ever to appear in a film.. Girl being chased by T-Rex's... Awesome. Overall it was a decent film. Peter Jackson still remains one of those directors that I get excited about when I hear they are involved with a film. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 14 2007 05:19 AM In reply to this comment (#869251) Egads, man, have a little respect. Women get treated like shit on forums, and the sheer volume of misoganystic comments on these forums in particular are just plain disturbing. You remind me of those dumbass frat boys that made their way into the Borat movie. Instead of "she's a bad actress", there's always crap like "I can't watch this movie, that chick has a face like a septic tank"... Word to all intended recipients... grow up. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 14 2007 07:17 AM In reply to this comment (#869251) Do you hate all women this way? Man, you're one sick asshole! (Reply to this) |
![]() on Jun 14 2007 07:40 AM I stand by my statement that King Kong sucked. That said, I apologize to Rachel Weisz for saying that I am not attracted to her, and that she probably has feet like a hobbit. Sorry, but last time I looked, Hollywood doesn't put pigs in leading roles. If you think actresses are not judged by their looks first, and their acting abilities second, then I think you are all quite naive. As for King Kong; that scene with the dinosaurs and the filmakers all running together was absurd. The relationship between the boat captain and "Jimmy" was unneccessary. The first 45 minutes was terribly boring, and the island scene was to CGI for my tastes. I didn't mind the ending, even though they still can't explain how you get a giant gorilla to New York. I recently watched both the original and the late 70's version and probably preferred both over the new one. I am a big fan of Jack Black, but I feel he didn't work for the part. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 14 2007 08:32 AM i hate how these forums get so off topic. it is now a king kong forum/ the pros and cons of rachel weisz forum (Reply to this) |

on Jun 14 2007 10:35 AM In reply to this comment (#869258) So you mean Vince McMahon's NOT dead? (Reply to this) |
|
on Jun 14 2007 12:39 PM In reply to this comment (#869255) Of course they are judged by looks, along with acting ability, but that doesn't mean we have to fall into that trap. And you didn't like King Kong, that's fine, although I happen to disagree with you. (As for the '76 version, have you actually watched it recently? I caught the last 45 minutes on Showtime last week. The less said about that the better.) But have you seen any of Jackson's other movies? Heavenly Creatures especially shows that Jackson can handle this kind of story and do a good job of it.
