blank blank writes: on Jun 21 2007 11:28 AM de niro hasnt been in a good movie in like ten years. i think the best movie deniro has been in lately was Knocked Up. Oh no, wait, that was paul rudd. as mediocre as deniro has been, its sad that al pacino has been worse. his movies have been terrible since Heat. (Reply to this) |

unbreakable_samurai writes: on Jun 21 2007 11:49 AM I love em both, so I'm very happy about this. I've heard rumors about this film for a while but this is the first time I've actually heard that it's a go. I just finally got around to watching Taxi Driver Tuesday that was a crazy movie, very good, didn't end at all the way I thought it would. (Reply to this) |

BReeG writes: on Jun 21 2007 12:08 PM In reply to this comment (#870457) Insomnia was good I thought. And Merchant of Venice. But both of those guys are guilty of coasting on their name. Anyway, this sounds like it could be cool, everybody loves hit men! (Reply to this) |

screwhead100 writes: on Jun 21 2007 12:54 PM how are they guilty of coasting on there name when they are proven greats?!?! pacino was great in the devil's advocate..... (Reply to this) |

criddic writes: on Jun 21 2007 12:57 PM Scorsese & De Niro: Together Again unfortunate use of character name, though, as this same name was Frank Sinatra's Oscar-nominated role in "The Man with the Golden Arm." Unless it's intended as an homage to that film, which does not appear to be the case. Still, very exciting to see them get back together. Will Leonardo DiCaprio also have a part in it? (Reply to this) |

Herberbaly writes: on Jun 21 2007 01:37 PM This could very well prove to be DeNiro's last chance at more Academy gold. Let's hope Scorcese brings out the best in him, as only he can do. I am looking forward to this a lot. I wouldn't mind seeing DiCaprio in this flick either, it could be a proper passing of the torch. (Reply to this) |

FireflyFan4evr writes: on Jun 21 2007 02:38 PM For myself, big deal. De Niro has been past his prime for a long time, and Scorsese isn't really my kind of director. They both have excellent films under their belt, but really, a 9th film together? How about finding different actors and make a career for them instead. There's many excellent young actors and actresses that could benefit instead of De Niro. The only Scorsese films I can watch over and over are "King of Comedy" and "The Departed". (Reply to this) |

villain78 writes: on Jun 21 2007 03:37 PM In reply to this comment (#870457) I don't know about that. I disagree with you. As much as I love these two guys, DeNiro's been in worse movies than Pacino. Pacino hasn't stooped as low as Rocky & Bullwinkle. Merchant of Venice was great, and so was The Insider. Pacino's a nice addition to Ocean's 13, too. (Reply to this) |
|
Defmonkey writes: on Jun 21 2007 03:56 PM In reply to this comment (#870457) Pacino was great in Ocean's 13 Or atleast I thought so. And speaking of Heat, I always remember Dane Cook's bit on Heat. "WHERE'S THE FUCKING VAN!!?" (Reply to this) |
|
screwhead100 writes: on Jun 21 2007 04:46 PM "DiCaprio in this flick either, it could be a proper passing of the torch" you got to be joking me.......i would never put DiCaprio in the same league as pacino and DeNiro......... (Reply to this) |

Conehead2187 writes: on Jun 21 2007 05:27 PM In reply to this comment (#870462) Double D's I would love to see DiCaprio and DeNiro in the same film. I know they worked well together in This Boy's Life when Leo was much younger, so it would be great to see them both in another film. Add Scorsese into the equation, and you really do stack the odds of the film's success in their favor. (Reply to this) |
|
Defmonkey writes: on Jun 21 2007 10:00 PM In reply to this comment (#870469) That would be sweet I really think that DiCaprio is trying to have a bad boy image after The Departed. Because I saw him as whole different actor in that movie. Especially when he's punching Damon in the face with that pistol. I was blown away how great a job DiCaprio did in that movie. Everybody thinks he's some pretty boy because of Titanic. Watch that movie and see how he isn't and can change roles easily. (Reply to this) |

MattBaerFTW writes: on Jun 22 2007 01:41 AM In reply to this comment (#870468) Dicaprio hasn't even really hit his prime i understand why you might say that but i don't know man with his recent efforts i think one day if it keeps going as it is he will be on that list (Reply to this) |

DarthWonka writes: on Jun 22 2007 07:32 PM DiCaprio rocked the shit out of "The Aviator," "The Departed," and "Blood Diamond." Cut the boy some slack. He's good and he's only going to get better. Him and DeNiro in the same movie would be awesome. (Especially since DeNiro should have played Nicholson's character in "The Departed.") (Reply to this) |
|
Bigbrother writes: on Jun 23 2007 12:24 PM In reply to this comment (#870475) Would have been tough selling DeNiro as Irish though since he's the quintisential Italian mobster. Plus I think Jack has a strong track record recently. (Reply to this) |
|
DarthWonka writes: on Jun 23 2007 04:56 PM True. Very true. Still, DeNiro would have scared me. Nicholson was more... Nicholson-like. (Reply to this) |

Ash84 writes: on Jun 25 2007 12:07 PM In reply to this comment (#870476) I believe in GoodFellas, the reason Jimmy and Henry couldn't get "made" was because they were half irish. Oh, well, I know you were talking accents anyway. It's interesting to think about how The Departed would have turned out with DeNiro as Costello. Tell you the truth, I might have liked it better.
