Anna Faris to Star in Linda Lovelace Deep Throat Biopic
And a million fanboys' hearts explode in unison.
by Jeff Giles | September 20, 2007
Discuss Article
After a string of comedic roles in films such as Just Friends and the Scary Movie series, Anna Faris is ready to get deep. Deep Throat, that is.

No, she isn't remaking the porn classic -- but according to MTV Movies, she is gearing up to portray its star, Linda Lovelace, in a Lovelace biopic called Inferno. Matthew Wilder has already been attached to direct. From the article:

Lovelace became a household name after "Deep Throat" became a pop-culture phenomenon that had stars like Johnny Carson and Jack Nicholson attending showings. Porn became chic, and the film has to date grossed more than $600 million worldwide (some believe it is still be the most profitable movie ever made).

In the years that followed, however, Lovelace reinvented herself as an anti-porn crusader, toiled in poverty and insisted that she had a gun held to her head off-camera during those infamous "Throat" scenes, blaming the experience largely on her manager/husband Chuck Traynor.

Faris describes Inferno as "a really deep, dark drama" and "a challenge, definitely," and hopes to have the project wrapped before next year's strike.

A biopic om Linda Lovelace, huh? Well now that's 'deep'.

Sounds like it could be good, but I'm bummed it's going to be a "really deep, dark drama". An R-Rated Mockumentary about the Deep Throat phenomenon could have been great with Faris in the role.

Sounds interesting and Faris is a fine performer in a comedic role or not.

I agree. This role will be harder and deeper than anything Faris has taken before. But she could really milk this opportunity to carry her career over the brink.

...waaaay too much fun. :) Anybody else?

she always said she wanted meatier roles, so I really hope she put the money where her mouth is.

Given that this is the first 'deep' role she's taking....I hope she doesn't choke under pressure.

I'm a bag fan of Faris, and I believe she can pull this role off very good. It'll be hard to see her in a more serious role though, but she's a good choice.

wow, with all the sexual innuendo you guys are posting you'd think that one of you could at least be funny...guess not.

anyways, i guess this movie could be interesting, but i really have no interest in Deep Throat or seeing a drama about the star's life. and from what i've heard Anna Faris is a pretty good actress, but i've never actually wasted the time to watch any of the Scary Movie flicks or anything else she's been in. maybe this will be the first movie of hers i'll see.

It can't be the most profitable movie ever because it's not a movie. Porn flick!

I remember reading somewhere that Linda also had sex with dogs.
Wonder if Anna would be willing to protray that in a Bio Movie?
