In this week's Ketchup, casting rumors abound, involving both Star Trek XI (eleven?!) and Justice League of America, with multiple JLA plot spoilers surfacing as well. Also, sequels for two big sci-fi action epics are tentatively scheduled for Summer 2009. Read on.

  • Russell Mulcahy will direct Zen in the Art of Slaying Vampires, based on the Steven-Elliot Altman novel.

  • Jennifer Aniston is set to star with Aaron Eckhart in the drama Traveling, with Brandon Camp making his directing debut.

  • Kevin James will write, produce and star in the comedy Mall Cop for Columbia Pictures and Happy Madison Productions.

  • Asger Leth (Ghosts of Cité Soleil) will direct a remake of 1993 Italian thriller La Scorta with Peter Craig writing the screenplay for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.

  • AnnaSophia Robb will star opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in director Andy Fickman's Witch Mountain remake at Disney.

  • Miramax and producer Scott Rudin have acquired rights to the Junot Diaz's debut novel The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao for a feature film adaptation.

  • New Regency has acquired rights to Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden's graphic novel Baltimore, or The Steadfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire, with David Goyer set to direct.

  • Mick Garris plans to remake Thirst, the 1979 Australian vampire thriller directed by Rod Hardy.

  • Drew Heriot will make his feature debut directing The Aquarian Gospel, a chronicle of Jesus Christ's "missing years" from ages 13 to 30.
