New Feature Alert! The RT Review Revue, A Weekly Video Round-up
Your friendly neighborhood RT editors wax poetic on this week's films.
Ahoy there! We here at RT have decided to get with the times to bring you a new weekly feature: a video round-up of the week's opening wide releases, just in time for that very special Friday night movie date. Tune in to our RT Review Revue each week to hear what's new in theaters, see what the critics are saying, and decide which opening film is worth your box office dollars.
This week's topics range from the MTV-generation stylings of the Ryan Phillippe Iraq drama, Stop-Loss, to the zeitgeist-skewering antics of the latest spoof comedy, Superhero Movie. (Apologies in advance to Dr. Stephen Hawking; Channing Tatum has nothing on you.)
Also catch up on the book-to-screen blackjack thriller 21, which reunites Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey for the third time (and in a more age-appropriate pairing than Beyond the Sea) and see what David Schwimmer's directorial debut, the Simon Pegg comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run, is all about.
In the hot seats for this week's RT Review Revue:
Editor-in-Chief Matt Atchity, Senior Editor Jen Yamato, and Resident Carrie Underwood Fan, David Chung (he's the one on the right)
The best part: you'll get it all in a three-minute video! What are you waiting for? Click here to watch.

![]() on Mar 28 2008 05:57 PM Actually, Robert Joy (Superhero Movie's Hawking) is one of those "that guy"s for me. Always fun to see him pop up now and then. (Reply to this) |

on Mar 30 2008 08:31 PM the three people selected to be in this video are likeable and engaging--you're a cutie, jen!--but there's virtually no content beyond what i could gather reading the RT news. it seemed like a lot of conjecture. i would have liked some more analysis and some stronger claims--otherwise your goal shouldn't be to let us "see what the critics are saying, and decide which opening film is worth your box office dollars." virtually nothing in that video had anything to do with what critics are saying, and after watching it, i'm not in any way closer to deciding which opening film is worth my box office dollars. ![]() on Mar 30 2008 10:59 PM In reply to this comment (#1661904) Hi train, Thanks for watching (and for the kind words)! That was our first take on the new video so we're still tweaking format/content/etc. I agree with you, I'd also like to include more of the critical reaction into the piece. Thanks for the feedback! Please keep it coming. (I still say Horton was the best bet in theaters last weekend.) (Reply to this) |

on Mar 31 2008 01:02 AM First of all!! Great idea adding this new feature... but there are lots of things to work on so it can be better. Talk more about what the critics say (but still give your point of view, i think a lot of people here trust your judgement) Fix the video player please lol!! And be more clear in all aspects (there were things that left me confused in the way i didnt know if what you were saying was good or bad) But it was nice seeing that there are video reviews now!!! Great job!!! (Reply to this) |
