Transformers (2007)
Agrees With....
Posted on 6/29/07 at 4:15 AM Just saw this, and I couldn't believe my eyes. This is perhaps the most amazing movie I've seen since The Matrix. The special effects were absolutely eye-popping, and the sound was just plain stunning like it was cut from a sonic diamond. The story was well crafted, and the dialogue was surprisingly well written, something I wasn't expecting at all. I would have been happy if this would have just been an amazing action film, but it's so much more. Sitting there watching this gem unfold made me remember what it was like when I was much younger, playing with my then sturdy, die cast metal Transformers and wishing they were real. Well, this film is about as close as I could hope to realizing that dream and then some! This will be the blockbuster of the summer. I have to give it to the makers for staying so true to the source material, and giving the fans an experience we'll never forget. Thank you!

The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Agrees With....
Posted on 11/20/03 at 2:59 PM Peace can only be reached when both sides in a conflict decide that it is to their mutual benefit to cooperate. Whenever peace is gained by force, it cannot last, because those who have been defeated will rise up against the victors.
The Wachowski Brothers are a couple of the most intelligent directors of our time. I have this strong sense that their decision to end the movie the way they did was directly related to current events in the Middle East. PErhaps tehy felt that it would be irresponsible to give people the false impression that aggresion can solve conflicts. This is an illusion that hollywood has no problem perpetuating. In hollywood, there is always a clear cut line between good and evil, right and wrong. Larry and Andy manage to shatter this misconception with this third and final installment of the Matrix Trilogy. Initially I felt that this offering was much better than Reloaded,w hich isn't a knock at Reloaded by any means. It's simply an observation I had immediately after viewing Revolutions. However, in retrospect, I believe I have changed my feelings about the trilogy, and I now see Revolutions as being the best out of the three! 0 Comments | |
