It's hard to say if this is the best of the Coen Brothers' offerings as there are so many to chose from. This is certainly a contender. It's dark and wonderfully shot making full use of the barren Texan landscape. It's also stood the test of time, the live burial scene is still unsettling and edgy 25 years and after no matter how many viewings. The casting is spot on too, M Emmett Walsh's slimy, sweaty private investigator the best of the bunch.
